You two just wait until Saint Dryml reaches his first final in the GP next season... then you'll see Yeah, I see it now:- Red - Andreas Jonsson Blue - Nicki Pedersen White - Jason Crump Yellow - R/R Lol, due to broken knuckles, after being knocked out of the preliminary rounds of the Conker Champs. NCH, you are indeed correct, spent a lovely weeks holiday in that pub, when my friends did holiday relief there

He is hardly a wally when he has won several world championships as a rider and got himself into a very decent position in virtually running the Gp's and WSC.
Define Wally then?
Also, macattack suggested a bit ago the idea of a start gate at an angle with gate four about a metre in front. Is he a wally as well....?

I think Ole should stop the GP series for a couple of years, the speedway authorities in their respective countries start up a new world championship series and then Ole can come back and his job will have disappeared, oh dear what a shame

Anyway, I feel he is a wally suggesting closing down OUR speedway for 2 years. I expect that you will correct me if I am wrong, but surely only Kings Lynn and Coventry and possibly Eastbourne would survive for 2 years without speedway due to the fact that they are privately owned, well possibly Foxhall as well, but believe you me, should the Heath go without speedway for 2 years, our council will definitely not re-issue a licence as the noise pollution brigade will make sure of that Yes he was a great speedway rider, but for me, his obvious bias towards his fellow countrymen at all SWC and SGP's, laying absolute rubbish tracks which hardly ever produce decent racing doesn't endear him to me, and yes I was one of the older fans who watched him in his heyday. Just a personal opinion, and sorry if I have offended you but it is my opinion of the statement.

Where else would Rigsby and Mr2awards be able to view Shire Horse shows and see the Purple Helmets motor bike display team in action? ;D

Like him or loath him, Olsen does have some radical views on the sport. I quite like the idea of the angled start line, it would certainly add to the excitement of the first bend action!! Clearly shutting British Speedway for two years would be the death knell for the sport, but it'll be interesting to hear the whole story, as clearly that 'quote' was used to increase sales. And on riding in wet conditions, well Olsen has clearly achieved this in the GP's.......so maybe another chapter the BSPA should read!! I vote that we all read the article, and then get Schumi to arrange a follow-up interview with Ole where she interogates him more, having had time to digest what he has to say here. Angled start line Kev? Haven't we explored all sorts of ideas like that in years gone by e.g. Concrete start lines and also starting stalls, horse race style? And as for the GP, love it or loathe it it's here and seemingly here to stay. Having attended the F.I.M. Press Conference when they first announced it, I still chuckle when I think of the two most vociferous and absolutely vehement critics of the notion in that room that day. Both were speedway ex-world champions - one Kiwi (not Briggo or Mooro!) and the other? Danish!!!

Thing is macattack, his tactics got him the job didn't it? I subsequently tried similar tactics at a job interview I went to and ended up being frogmarched off the premises by two burly blokes at the behest of the firm's M.D. and told, in no uncertain terms, never ever to go near their premises again! ;D

This is the same Ole who quite a few years ago suggested a new track with diamond shape bends to make the riders use better throttle control! What more do you expect, just surprised he did not suggest adding on indicators to bikes, a shopping basket and illuminous stripes on the riders leathers!

Yes indeed Bryn, concrete start lines have been tried, in fact I believe Odsal was the first to experiment with the idea. I can think of another individual who was extremely voiciferous against the idea when it was originally mooted. In fact he even held talks with the Swedes in an effort to contrive an 'alternative' World Championship, before 'taking it on the nose' and getting the go-ahead to stage the first British GP at his own (at the time) Arena Essex. History tells us that never transpired, but the GP did go ahead at Waterden Road.........a venue that was also very much associated with the orange dictator. In the words of Alanis Morrisette...........isn't it ironic?
