I have been listening to Jon Gaunts 10am - 1pm show on Talk Sport now over a year, and while most of the time he discusses current affairs, the last few weeks he has started mentioning speedway.

The first mention I heard was when someone from Hull came on to have a go and he replied well at least my city (Coventry) has a Speedway team still.

However today he mentioned that Bomber Harris and Rory Schlien are going to be at one of his live shows, presumably the one near Coventry, and he wants them to come up on stage and say a few words regarding speedway, and also to help Jon and "Moose" because apparently they made a bet to see who would win in a speedway race.....Jon and Moose NOT Bomber and Rory.

Anyway he started chatting about Speedway for abit and wants to start a campaign to get a Speedway show on Talk Sport even if its once a week for an hour.

He said

"If there can be a fishing programme every saturday morning, then im pretty sure we could have a speedway programme."

So I was thinking why dont we go onto the Talk Sport website and see if there is a link to contact someone regarding suggestions. I am sure if enough people showed a willingness to listen Talk Sport would be more than happy to put a show.....

However as long as they think there is no audience for it then i'm sure it never will happen.....

Also Nigel Pearson is one of the leading football pundits on the station.

Sube Jon Gaunt is brilliant,honest ,very frank & he also doesn't scream like you know who does.It would be excellent for him(not you know who) to do a speedway programme, but not just for his home town club(Coventry) but any club.Harry ,Jon feels the same way on immigration as a lot of us Brits do(even those that are of ethnic origin), if that makes him a racist then so are nearly all of us including myself(and i am not in any way shape or form).

No, he doesn't do national Beeb cos he's 'Working Class', he's one of the people and he doesn't like Radio 3, 4 and 5 cos it's all for the middle classes.

I have an issue with him because he pretends he speaks for the majority, the working classes. I am working class, I don't agree with him on bit. IMO, he sees the working class as uneducated or without a clue. He's condescending in a word. To see himself as speaking for the majority of the nation is wrong because if you sit down with a bloke and get into a good chat and split it down, the opinion always changes there never is a majority if you go down to people invidiually. The only time there is a majority opinion, it's normally when people are not aware of the subject matter.

He's clearly intelligent but I hate these figures which people from a background like his become. Why can't no-one go quietly about their business.

OK fair enough...I thought that post from Tiger came across as a positive move for Speedway, but I've never listened to Jon Gaunt...
