I guess this is the best place to put this. From www.speedwayworld.tvSWEDISH rider Magnus Karlsson has been in talks with prospective new Premier League club Scunthorpe. Karlsson has a proven record in the second tier of British speedway, having been involved in Championship winning teams at both Edinburgh and Hull. And when he moved into the Elite League full-time with parent club Wolverhampton in 2005, he was widely expected to progress into a heat leader role at Monmore Green. However, despite racing in teams containing his brothers Mikael Max and Peter Karlsson, the youngest Karlsson brother was unable to make the strides expected, and he dropped to reserve this year before sitting out the final weeks of the British campaign. Now Scunthorpe appear to be willing to offer him a route back into the Premier League - assuming their application to move up from the Conference is ratified at this week's BSPA AGM. Scorpions promoter Rob Godfrey has already signed another Swedish rider, Viktor Bergstrom, and has been linked with moves for Richard Hall and Carl Wilkinson. Godfrey said: "Magnus wants to drop down again to Premier League level and would be a great asset for us. We are about 90 per cent of the way there towards reaching agreement."No shock that Magnus wants to drop down, but Rich Hall would be a bit of a surprise.
