Wibblemuis, I have two questions if that's okay: 1. Did his sons look likely to follow in his footsteps? Mansell's sons, Greg and another one who's name I can't remember at this late hour, were novice karters (i.e. first five meetings) when I raced against them. Frankly, they didn't seem anything particularly special, and finished far down the pack (one was last I seem to recall). That said, they quickly progressed into (I think) Formula BMW, so either they can't have been that terrible, or got a lot of coaching. BTW - here's a photo from the meeting where Mansell presented the trophies. Just for you Schumi, the guy standing next to Mansell (in the Wright race suit) once beat Michael Schumacher in a kart race. www.rafmsa.raf.mod.uk/rafmsa-text/4-wheel-sports/kart-champs05-3.htmAnd 2. What's a wibblemuis? ;D An Amsterdam mouse that talks nonsense of course.

And which one are you? I think I'm fourth from the left, standing behind someone though so you can't really see me. I actually had a terrible meeting that day, plagued with mechanical problems and then being involved in a freakish accident with a loose traffic cone that got flicked in the air by a front-runner and landed on me.

I don't believe it. Surely that's not possible? Another stat for my forthcoming Senna vs Schumacher masterpiece. Senna would never get beaten by some dude in a go-karting race. All the best Rob

Now you're sounding like Mansell. Rob: just for you, a clip of Senna karting www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKRii2xBpDU

Schumi, Ah, the master at work. As usual the only thing that could rob him of victory was a mechanical failure. All the best Rob

Nice, Senna being beaten by Andrea De Crasheris, as near as makes no odds to being beaten by 'some dude' ;D

Anyone would think I picked it for that very reason. ;D No, tell me you didn't, naughty Y! ;D Even better that the commentary tells us that, despite several attempts, Senna never got the KWC, whereas the mobile chicane that was Andrea did; Senna was good, but not always that good.........

Watching the clip, it looks like only the mechancial failure folied Senna. And he was ahead of Prost at the time. It still goes in Senna's favour in my forthcoming work of art - as there's a world of difference in being beaten by Andrea De Crasheris (who did show the odd glimpse of brilliance in F1, when given a half-decent car, after all you don't get given 130 F1 appearances for nothing) and some random local karting dude. All the best Rob

All the best Rob Rob I didn't realise you were taking this so seriously. After all, you know I'm having a laugh. Though if the basis of your argument that Senna was the better driver is that one of Kevin's mates once beat Schumacher (and let's face it - it wasn't likely to be a serious competition) in a kart race, it doesn't say much for the rest of it.
