That was total shite, its no wonder Belle Vue cannot get crowds. I never normally bite but the EoES was hardly full last week when your lot were on against the Hammers. Belle Vue lost almost half it's support once Hyde Road closed down. Added to the fact the GRA do fuck all to help us in any way whatsoever, make no improvements to the stadium to keep it looking like the shithole it is ain't gonna pull the punters in. The track is the fault of Belle Vue and I can't argue about that. It's a horrid track and Mr Swales does his best but it's looking like his best isn't good enough. Oh...added to the fact we also have to compete with Man Utd, Man City, Blackburn Rovers, Wigan Athletic, Blackpool FC (yes we have fans that travel from Blackpool to watch BV), numerous Championship, League 1 and League 2 football sides. There's also the numerous Rugby League teams in the North West plus Sale Sharks, Lancashire Cricket Club etc etc and taking all that into account our crowds aren't that bad. Which other high profile Sporting Clubs do Peterborough have to contend with?

my star turn as team manager in 2005, when bottom-placed Oxford went to top-placed Belle Vue and ended up losing by just 9 points (43-52). ;D So, let me get this right.....your star turn as team manager was a nine point defeat? Bloody Hell, if you were a rider, you'd almost certainly emulate Damian. ;D Kev, to put in perspective, this were our results at BV in 2005: Belle Vue 58 Oxford 34 (24-point defeat) Belle Vue 63 Oxford 28 (35-point defeat) Belle Vue 52 Oxford 43 (9-point defeat) So to be team manager of the nine-point defeat was almost like a moral victory And to point out, it was my only outing as team manager at EL level (both my turns as team manager were away at the league leaders - not that I cared, I was like a fat kid in a cake shop at being given the chance to manage Oxford ;D ). So it was my star turn whatever the result.

I never normally bite but the EoES was hardly full last week when your lot were on against the Hammers Wasnt talking about the attendance I was refeering to the racing or lack of it, everyones crowds are affected by Sky visitingBelle Vue lost almost half it's support once Hyde Road closed down. Added to the fact the GRA do fuck all to help us in any way whatsoever, make no improvements to the stadium to keep it looking like the shithole it is ain't gonna pull the punters in. Totally agree unfortunatelyThe track is the fault of Belle Vue and I can't argue about that. It's a horrid track and Mr Swales does his best but it's looking like his best isn't good enough. Again no argumentOh...added to the fact we also have to compete with Man Utd, Man City, Blackburn Rovers, Wigan Athletic, Blackpool FC (yes we have fans that travel from Blackpool to watch BV), numerous Championship, League 1 and League 2 football sides. I was commenting on the entertainment value, their wasnt very much, due in the most part to the total lack of any dirt making any overtaking past the first bend nigh impossibleWhich other high profile Sporting Clubs do Peterborough have to contend with? Luckily only Peterborough United

But my maths is fine (note it's maths, not math, we're not American ) Anyway, it's why I have a soft spot for Belle Vue - because it reminds me of the day of my Jim'll Fix It moment in speedway when I team managed an Oxford side including two former World Champions in its line-up.

It's far too late? early? oh whatever! to trawl through this, but i'm assuming Rosco has been Mutts nutts(ed) for having the bottle to expose Belle Vue's shockingly blatent cheating, and that Belle Vue along with west ham have been flapperjacked for selfishly doctoring their tracks to the detriment of British speedway.
Night night.........Love you all(well most of you)xxxxxx

Hope you've had a chance to sober up and rewatch the Sky coverage and see what was actually going on, old chap Sober up ? you cheeky git! i'd just got in from (yet another) 17 hour days work... Well, in that case, hope you've had a chance to wind down from work and watch the Sky Coverage in a more balanced frame of mind. It's clear that dust was a problem from the outset at Belle Vue last night, therefore heavy watering was required during the breaks. Now the water truck does tend to go where the racing line is, i.e. gate 3 at the starting gate. So whoever is on gate 3 after the watering is going to be on quite a wet gate. The irony is that Rosco won the toss last night, but chose gates 2 & 4 for Heat 1. It's quite a simple explanation and doesn't involve any cheating on Belle Vue's part. Chris Morton is a straightforward character (perhaps too straightforward, he doesn't have the deviousness required in a team manager), he wouldn't cheat. Rosco's rant before Heat 8 went too far. To suggest that (a) Belle Vue were cheating (b) that Sky would be best off to stop covering speedway, went too far. I don't mind people speaking their minds, but it's best to engage brain before you do so. Remember that young Nick Mallett from Newport had his promoter's license withdrawn for less than what Rossiter did last night.

Argh had a long reply typed out, but hit back by mistake, doh. Anyway crux of it was an utter shite track, far far too slick and offered no encouragement to riders to move off the kerb. When Leigh Lanham is competitive, you know something's wrong. Big comedown from the GP on Saturday. Please redeem with a corker between the Panthers and Pirates. Rico

Rico Funny that as I'm pretty sure Josh Grajczonek got the better of Edward Kennett by sticking to the outside in heat 7 and something must've been wrong all season as Leigh Lanham has been outstanding all season. Rosco ballsed his T/R's up, his riders were shite and Belle Vue were on a high after last week's performance so rather than admit his side were beaten by the better team he made up all the excuses under the sun. So far in 2 league meetings this season Coventry haven't taken a point off us ;D
