Credit where credit is due for Coventry I'd say. True, and Scott scored well tonight, beating Jason too. There can be no denying that Coventry are the in-form team at the moment, and look likely to breeze the play-offs - what a shame that they have a flapperjack for a starting marshall!!

Great racing last night. Never seen Poole before with so much passing. Chris Harris was doing his usual stuff and passing on the outside just about on top of the fence. Surprised with Middlo giving Boycey a tactical ride and even more surprised that he won it. I thought the Pirates had just won the league with the jumping about excitedly that the fans did. Coventry deserved their win and it was great winding up a Poole supporter who I'd met on my travels. His excuse was, "But we're saving it for the Play Offs" Maybe in his dreams ;D Don't like Crumpy but well done to him last night.

There wasn't a gap, Schumi, but Chris found one ;D not sure of the relevance, but your post reminded me of a funny story(well funny to me,anyway) a famous horse trainer, was once furious with his jockey, after his well fancied horse had failed to win a valuable race, the trainer flew into the unsaddling enclosure,to confront the rider, and demanded to know, why the jockey hadn't 'gone for the gap'which had appeared at the furlong pole. the pragmatic jockey, looked at the trainer and replied. "because the gap was moving faster than we were"

There can be no denying that Coventry are the in-form team at the moment And last night they set the record for the most consecutive wins in Elite League history.

There wasn't a gap, Schumi, but Chris found one ;D There wasn't a gap at Wolverhampton on Monday but Chris found one. Unfortunately he took off the Wolves rider so was excluded. Doesn't happen very often though and I agree Chris is great to watch.

I think Coventry are a mediocre side, but where they really come into their own is that they're a unit and are determined. You look down Coventry's 1-7 and there isn't one who'd put a continental fixture ahead of the Bees. Harris, the former British champion and Allen are, of course British, while Schlein, Janniro and Johnston are all from English speaking nations and in the cases of Janniro and Johnston bloody grateful to be riding for the Bees. And Smolinski never lets the Bees down. That's a good solid basis and is serving the Bees very well.

I went to this one as well, to see Scotty, and because I was bored. It was my first visit to Poole, and as Braveheart said, it was a great meeting with lots of passing, mainly bees passing pirates though ;D. I don't care what Poole fans say about lowering averages, wanting 4th place etc, Coventry were the better team and fully deserved the win.
Poole fans do make me laugh!! After Boyces first 3 rides the fans around me were calling for him to retire as he was crap, then after he won the T/R and he was the best rider in the world. They even tried to blame Crump for the loss. I'm no Crump fan but he was good last night.
Braveheart, where did you stand?? Were you able to hear and understand the annoncer?? I couldn't, so was very glad for the scoreboard.
There was a good article in the programme, where the Pirates admitted that they got it very wrong when it came to Davey Watt ;D ;D Although that may mean they want him next season, so hopefully Bob Brimson can persuade him to stay an eagle.

Stand, Me A nice Poole supporter let me sit in the old Grandstand although when he saw my Bees scarf, he wanted me to go elsewhere. I was alright with the announcer.

I'm loving the BSF thread on this meeting, it's 18 pages, no bickering ( well if you discount the bickering between St Rob and the other Poole fans) which is highly entertaining. St Rob doing his best to wind up Mr Shovlar. ;D They've been incredibly gracious and I thank them for that, but as usual Rabbit win's the best post award, I'd love it if she joined us here.

as usual Rabbit win's the best post award, I'd love it if she joined us here. I've tried to convince her to at least have a look, and I know someone else has also tried to entice her. I agree that she would make a major contribution to this, or any other forum, but alas she seems happy where she is.
