True, but somehow it's even worse when you do it to your own fans, in the way the Glasgow promotion did. I mean, wiat until you've taken along your best away support of the year, and then treat them like that. Do you never ever attempt to see the bigger picture or look at things from a different perspective ? So you're saying the fans are unimportant?

The bigger picture dear chap would of course be "the fans", and not losing them!! IF Glasgow were on a average reduction mission, they would have been doing it for "the fans".

And the average reduction exercise didn't work - Screen has only been fitted in because Grieves is injured. Otherwise the Tigers were 0.06 over with the team they wanted to track. So as well as robbing the fans, it was also pointless.

The fact that Glasgow may have lacked the intelligence or foresight to be successful is 'neither here nor there' Genghis and to be honest i know very little about the affair, although i am trying to look at the bigger picture.. As we are all aware, very few of the worlds top riders now ply their trade in this country, and as if that's not bad enough, many very decent riders are shown the door because of pointless, self destructive rules, issued by an organization that lack the perspicacity to run our great sport....now tell me, how is this good for the fans ? Imagine if you will, that you ran a business, it doesn't have to be a speedway club, any business, but one where you are dictated to regards your trading. Let's say your business is a restaurant in a town centre, now you have competition but you intend on being successful by buying the finest meat and produce and employing the best chefs to cook for you, however the council tell you, other local restaurants don't have your wherewithal, and can only afford crap meat, and wankers to cook it, so they are restricting your trading rights....your business is now in trouble, as no one comes out to eat, because EVERYONE IS SERVING UP SHIT....now wouldn't you be doing anything you could to keep afloat ? And would all this be in the best interests of the fans ?........or should i say diners ?

Ban the BSPA? How did you come to that conculsion, old chap. So you're going to ban all the promoters - who does that leave to stage meetings? If your point is that there should be an independent governing body, who work in conjunction with the BSPA to help control British Speedway (especially the day-to-day decisions once the season is underway), I would agree with you there.

What an absolute crock of shit Thank you for your reasoned and balanced argument......... Judging from the shit you've since posted on this thread regarding Glasgow, my comment was fully justified.

They are no worse than the air horns at Cardiff every year. Cardiff's a bit different though - they tend to only blast the horns at the end of a race or in support of a rider being announced, and air horns have to be refilled. At the football it's a constant drone. I'm not a huge fan of air horns either, especially when they're right beside you, but each to their own. Give me the barmy army any day.
