Well, it hasn't taken much to take the wind out of the sails of the Pirates, has it? A narrower than expected home win against the hapless Belle Vue Aces (and a lost bonus point in the process) and it looks like a crisis has descended upon Poole harbour. All of a sudden the talk seems to be about unrest in the Wimborne Road pits, in spite of the saintly presence of Neil Middleditch. It seems that the great white hope of British speedway is less than impressed with his team captain Bjarne Pedersen and especially Pedersen's penchant for riding him harder than the opposition on the 1st turn. Apparently young Pedersen continually baulks his team mate. The cry is that 3M must do something before it gets out of hand. But what can they do?

ok, so if they don't get on (which is the suggestion I take it) why would he hinder him on the track, it just doesn't make sense. Surely that could cost them meetings ...

Judging from comments at the BSF, they don't get on because Bjarne Pedersen isn't very helpful to his team mates on the track. To be fair, it's something that has echoed down the years at Poole: Bjarne Pedersen being difficult to ride with. I remember him and Kasprzak had problems in the early part of 2005 riding together. And then there was the infamous example at Wolverhampton (I think) last season, when BP overtook Grzegorz Walasek - Walasek took it badly and according to reports Walasek and BP spent the rest of the race caught up in their own private battle.

I've just found this on the Poole website...
Speaking of the apparent lack of team bonding after an incident between Bjarne Pedersen and Edward Kennett in heat 5 of Wednesday's win over Belle Vue, Ford added "I think that it was just one of those things that happens in the heat of the moment. All the lads are desperately trying to do their best all the time and are keen to put in good performances and sometimes these things happen and look worse than what they actually were. I firmly believe that there was no intention by Bjarne to take Eddie's line but we will be having a 'clear the air' talk with the riders ahead of Monday's meeting. Both Eddie and Bjarne are key to our success this year and we need them at their best if we are to get a result on Monday."

Here's Shovvy's recording of the incident in question: Click meThis isn't the first time Bjarne's been accused of not being a team player.

looks like Pedersen lifted on the second bend and got out of sorts.

Seems pretty rich that Kennett should be complaining about BP's team riding after watching Heat 14 of the Sky match on Monday.

Pedersen should have seen it was Kennett and held a tighter line, however he seems to ride Kennett wider and wider before he lifts and really stuffs him in the fence. Pedersen must have had his blinkers on.

I firmly believe that there was no intention by Bjarne to take Eddie's line The problem is surely more that there was no intention NOT to take Eddie's line. Bjarne is a fast rider, if one of the dullest around, but he doesn't ever seem to be aware of his surroundings. A rider in his position, when racing with a partner, should be much more aware of where his partner is....Bjarne just seems to "gas and go"....

....Bjarne just seems to "gas and go".... And BP may well be looking to "gas and go" out of Wimborne Road. Certainly sounds like he wasn't impressed with the reception he received from the home fans: www.speedwayworld.tv/en/news/a8233?SID=0ef931e3aab3e8a8abfc484594ab6c98Meanwhile, judging from the above, it looks like the managerial genius that is Middlo intends to see how Batchelor gets along with Bjarne "The Fence" Pedersen.

It could be an interesting winter watching the team building for next season at Poole. Clearly Bjarne Pedersen is looking at his options, Krzysztof Kasprzak looks like he could be heading to Lakeside on a permanent transfer, Edward Kennett stated that he'd be back at Eastbourne next year and Boycie and Swist must surely be doubtful. Interesting times ahead.

I wouldn't worry yet. With the amount of riders Poole have allegedly signed for next season I'm half expecting to see Poole A and Poole B fielded in the elite league.

I think you've been listening to some of the twats from Poole on the BSF too much schumi - if they signed 10% of the riders who are claimed to be heading Dorset way they could track half a dozen teams.
