HOW??? How is Speedway or any sport different to any other business? Simple. Passion. Sport has the ability to move people unlike just about anything else. Would I travel to the other end of the country to buy a book? No, I'd buy it on amazon or ebay. Would I travel to the other end of the country to watch speedway. Yes, I'm doing that in June. And August and September, I'll even travel abroad to watch speedway. There's the difference. Passion. Yes, it has to be run as a business, but don't ever forget just what it means to the fans. But speedway is by no means anywhere near unique in terms of fans travelling here there and everywhere and having real passion for the sport they chose to follow is it Genghis? Fans of all sports do that - just look at the cricket taking place in New Zealand right now and the "Barmy Army" for example. Football fans travel here there and everywhere; Rugby fans (both codes) do likewise - blimey even the old dear next door has just come back home after being at a bowls tournament in Germany over the weekend! And loads of folk will, I feel sure, be wanting to travel to Beijing for the Olympics. As I said, speedway is NOT unique on that score.

Bryn, in the very first sentence, I said "or any other sport" But ANY sport is DIFFERENT to any other business. And in ANY sport, the fans should not be kept in the dark, as they are by the non-publication of both the Promoters' Guide and the AGM minutes.

Bryn, in the very first sentence, I said "or any other sport" Have duly noted and slapped my wrists accordingly! But ANY sport is DIFFERENT to any other business. And in ANY sport, the fans should not be kept in the dark, as they are by the non-publication of both the Promoters' Guide and the AGM minutes. Poppycock! You might erroneously think that but you are totally wrong Genghis. There is NO way the "Promoters Guide" should be published as it is what it's title implies i.e, a gude for PROMOTERS! It's NOT a fans guide in any way shape or form. Same goes for the minutes of the PROMOTERS AGM - that's a matter for PROMOTERS! Next you'll be wanting promoters to publish details of what they pay their riders; how much rent they pay etc if they hire stadiums; how much they pay paramedics etc., etc., etc.!!! Get real Genghis old mate!

Get real Genghis old mate! No, I don't want that information. And if I did want financial information, I'd ask Wibblemuis how the accounts work on the companies house website. But it's there stuff pertinent to the rules, which there seems to be in the Promoters' Guide, than THAT information should be available to the supporters. Anyway, shhhh, KevH is about and he'll never shut up after what I wrote about Lakeside....

And what makes you think there is such stuff in there? I haven't seen this year's as I'm no longer Chairman of a CL side like last year but there was no such stuff in last year's. And NO you won't get to see it before you ask!

Say Bryn,
Just occurred to me that almost all of your posts are quoting Genghis on no particular thread either.
You can agree/disagree with anyone you like on any thread, no one is going to ban you or bite your head off. This is not a certain other forum you know. ;D

And disagreeing with genghis is positively encouraged. Mind you, back in the good old days, you didn't disagree with the proper Genghis - well, not if you valued your life anyway.

If I could choose a stalker, I'd prefer them to be female, gorgeous and with a nice pair of tits. But what do I get. Bloody Williamson.

And if myself and Kev agree on something it must be right. It only happens every thousand years, or when the planets are all in alignment. Although these days, since the creation of the slightly more radical Genghis, caused by the closure of Oxford, we seem to be agreeing quite a lot. Who knows - one day we may even see eye-to-eye over Mr. Dryml... once Kev sees the light, of course. On your first point, I agree, it's weird isn't it? I'd even accept your second point. On the third though, get real Genghis!!!! ;D

And as for KevH "seeing the light" concerning Mr. Dryml, well the day that happens then no doubt Subedei will admit that he has been on a wind up and fully accepts that, as far as he is concerned, a certain midlands-based sports commentator is the greatest ever! Trust me Bryn, I have seen the light where Damian is concerned.........it shone brightly in my eyes that fateful Bank Holiday morning a few years back.......been suffering from arc-eye ever since. ;D
