As far as I can see, four names virtually pick themselves: Scott Nicholls Chris Harris Lee Richardson Tai Woffinden Beyond that, it's horses for courses. I do remember Ben Barker being very, very fast around the Norfolk Arena, so maybe he should be in. Joe Haines also needs to be under serious consideration. And I would imagine Danny King likes the track. Can't see Edward Kennett being any good around King's Lynn - not his sort of track. Meanwhile, Josh Auty now must also be under serious consideration, after hitting a purple patch in his form for Sheffield.

Frenchie, 18 points at Birmingam is nothing to be sniffed at. I doubt it Harris or Richardson would score as many as 18 at Birmingham. IMHO, young Auty is now challenging Barker and King for that fifth spot in the team.

It's not, but it's a measure of just how well Auty is now riding. I imagine him liking King's Lynn as well, big open track that would suit his all-out style. Certainly a better bet than Frenchie's laughable suggestion of Edward Kennett. Kennett around KL, do me a lemon. ;D

Riders are still unhappy because of the regulations which make the controversial silencers compulsory for the SWC. Tomasz Gollob is the latest rider to speak out against the new ruling, and the Danes have already threatened to boycott the event.

Nicki Pedersen has said he won't ride in the SWC with the new silencer. He also says he's spoken to Tomasz Gollob, Andreas Jonsson and Hans Andersen and they won't ride either.

But Gollob has been named by Marek Cieslak. The Polish team for the semis is:
1..Adrian Miedzinski 2..Tomasz Gollob 3..Rune Holta 4..Jarek Hampel 5..Janusz Kolodziej

Whoever rides for team Denmark it won't be Leon Madsen, after his GP qualification round saw him using an illegal silencer, although it was caught and changed before the meeting was run.
"Leon Madsen has been caught cheating - and thus there is no room for him on the Danish national team," said Jens Lund from the DMU.
Thoughts?

Their protests seems to have had effect since the old silencers will be allowed in SWC according to Swedish Televisions SGP commentators.

GREAT Britain Speedway boss Rob Lyon has tonight unveiled the five riders to represent the nation at the FIM Speedway World Cup later this month.
And former British Grand Prix star Scott Nicholls has won his place back in the team to face Australia, Sweden and Finland at King's Lynn on Monday, July 26.
He's joined by Swindon's in-form star Simon Stead who also gets a recall after sitting out last year's tournament.
Chris Harris, Lee Richardson and Tai Woffinden are the other three riders selected by Lyon, who insists his team will be gunning for victory on the night and an automatic spot in the World Cup Final in Denmark.
"We are going for it at King's Lynn, make no mistake about that," said Lyon. "I've picked form riders in Scotty and Simon and it's great to have them back on board.
"Now we need the backing of the fans to come along to the Norfolk Arena and support us on the night. We want to avoid finishing second or third because that would mean the race-off."

Stead? ?? FFS, why? ? I suppose it is relatively tricky to continually pull lockers on a track knee deep in shale Pip
