Davey Watt announced as 4th signing and Captain. Surely means Bjarne's on his way? Was he the one who outpriced himself, perhaps?

His 'request' would've put him on more money than Holder... The smart money still seems to be on Bjarne returning despite the handover of the captaincy.

Bjarne Pedersen re-signs for Poole. Quote from speedwaygp.com:
Poole stalwart Bjarne Pedersen admits he asked co-promoter Matt Ford to appoint a new captain, after agreeing to spend a ninth straight season with the Pirates.
The Danish international endured a disappointing Elite League campaign by his standards this year, as his team only forced Belle Vue into the relegation play-off on point difference.
Pedersen admits captaining the Pirates through such a difficult season proved a heavy burden and he has relinquished the role to Australian World Cup racer Davey Watt for 2010.
The 31-year-old skippered the Eastbourne Eagles last term and was Pedersen’s vice-captain when Poole lifted the Elite League title in 2008.
With Watt taking over responsibility for the team, Pedersen is now determined to focus his own form and ensure he gets back to being one of the Elite League’s leading scorers.
He said: “I told Matt I wouldn’t like to be the captain next year. We had a talk at the end-of-season presentations a couple of weeks ago and I asked him to find a new captain for next year.
“I just want to prove everybody wrong. People have been saying my best seasons are behind me but I want to prove this is definitely not the case. I want to go on the track next year, score the points and leave the other jobs to other people.”
Pirates’ poor form resulted in a section of the Wimborne Road supporters booing certain riders and the Holstebro racer was one of those subjected to criticism from the terraces and online forums.
However, Pedersen says the stick has not lessened his love for the club and he is determined to fight back in 2010.
The Dane said: “At the end of the day, it’s just a part of it. Whether you’re a speedway rider, a football player or another sportsman, there’s always someone against you.
“I still love my speedway. I’ll come back strong and to be fair, you expect it – some people like you, some people don’t. It hasn’t done me any harm.
“I just need to concentrate on my own business and do the best I can for the club and for my team mates. As long as I score what I need to, everything will be okay.”
Pedersen has admitted he was “not proud” of his 2009 season and there was speculation Pirates would consider replacing him for 2010. But it seems there were plenty of clubs willing to take the former Newcastle rider on his 7.76 average.
He added: “If Poole didn’t want me, I’m sure there would have been another club wanting to do a contract with me. A few clubs asked for me before the season was finished – that’s because my average is low. But I wanted to come back to Poole and I’m glad we’ve done a deal.”

JASON Doyle completed Pirates’ 2010 one-to-seven – and then admitted he had unfinished business at the Dorset club.
The Australian, who missed all bar one day of last season with a shoulder injury, also revealed he even feared the problem could have ended his racing career.
Doyle confirmed he had received offers from other clubs, but insisted Poole was the only team he wanted to ride for.
Now, after making a successful return from injury in the Aussie championships, he’s vowed to make up for lost time.
Doyle said: “I’m excited. I was always going to be going back to Poole. I didn’t want to go anywhere else.
“I’ve got unfinished business to make up for what happened to me and the club last year.
“I was worried about my arm, but it’s okay now. I had a big crash at Newcastle and didn’t feel anything at all.”
Pirates failed to adequately replace Doyle or Kyle Legault, who both sustained long-term injuries in March.
Poole quickly slumped to the foot of the Elite League and eventually finished second from bottom – their worst performance for years.
Doyle, who’d initially sustained his shoulder injury in a spill in Australia two months earlier, said: “It was totally my fault.
“If the same thing happened again, I’d get the injury fixed up straight away, like I should have done after my first crash because I let everyone down at Poole and don’t want to do it again.
“Two months after the operation, I thought ‘this isn’t going to happen’. I couldn’t even lift my arm above my head.
“It was a hard year off, but it made me realise speedway isn’t just a job, but that I love doing it.
“I want to make a name for myself.
“I just have to have a couple of good years, stay on the bike and do well for Poole.”www.bournemouthecho.co.uk

CRUMP OFFERS PIRATES HELP
Sunday March 07, 2010
WORLD Champion Jason Crump has offered to help his parent club Poole if they suffer injury problems this summer.
The Australian ace will ride in a series of individual events at the start of the season but isn’t planning on riding in Britain on a regular basis.
Poole chief Matt Ford said: ““Jason only plans to do four or five individual meetings in Britain this year. But because his registration to ride in Britain is owned by Poole, he phoned to ask for permission to ride in those events.
“I was then pleasantly surprised when Jason said ‘if there are any problems, you don’t need to look anywhere else. Just call me’. It was a lovely surprise and a great thing to hear from such a fantastic rider.”

DOYLE BLOW FOR PIRATES
THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 16, 2010 ELITE League favourites Poole have been hit by the news that key reserve Jason Doyle could miss the rest of their play-off campaign.
Doyle has suffered a dislocated shoulder in a moto-cross accident, and his place in the Pirates' final regular league fixture of the season at Ipswich will be taken by club No.8 Gary Havelock.
Promoter Matt Ford said: "It's a frustration for us, a similar thing happened to Chris Holder last year.
"Jason could well miss the remainder of the season so you can guess how annoyed he is with himself."
