Lakeside take on Coventry in what has to be their most realistic chance of winning silverware this year, and after a dismal performance in the play-off semi finals, all the lads will be out to prove a point.
The Hammers will need to book a handy guest at reserve, however, and with Eddie Kennett having plenty of experience of the Arena, this could be the meeting of the season.

This meeting is now off, and will be restaged on Wednesday 14th October at 8pm. I was working in Kent and was supposed to be at the track early, got a call at 2.55pm to say it was off just as I was by the Dartford crossing but managed to turn off at the Erith turn off and head back south!! So its next Wednesday or if thats off another track by the looks of it

Looks like it could be a fun night, as there will be a four-a-side, six heat, Hackney v Romford challenge meeting before the main event. Are there any line-ups for this? (She says, wondering if the great Galvin could make an appearance?) Plus there'll be fireworks, rider of the year will be announced, and the team seem very motivated to build up a good lead in their bid to win some silverware. Should be a good one. www.lakesidehammers.com/latest/121009.asp

The only highlight for the Bees fans was --- Ben and Edward turned up and raced and Josh battled hard. As for our captain --- perhaps he could go on loan to Lakeside to familiarise himself with the track?

LAKESIDE are favourites to lift the Elite League Knockout Cup after a 59-36 first leg win over Coventry at Purfleet.
Adam Shields top scored for the Hammers with 14+1 and Lee Richardson notched 13+1. Edward Kennett was the top Coventry man with 12.
Coventry boss Peter Oakes said: “We have to do the same to them next Friday and a little but more, but on that showing it’s going to be difficult.”

I think it only fair that a special mention is given to Stuart Robson for his spirited display and huige points haul last night.
Stuart can hold his head high this season as the rider who has probably put more effort in than anyone else........last night it payed off big time........thanks Stuart, and keep it up at Brandon in the second leg!!!

I have huge respect for Robbo (especially as an ex Bees rider ;D) but sincerely hope he doesn't do as well against Cov on the return leg! Unsure ---- but did he have a go at Eddie at some point? Well done Lakeside -- you deserved the win after the abysmal turnout of our lot (3 riders excluded of course!)
