I'd like to nominate the Swindon fans on BSF for turning on their team and Leigh Adams after tonight's 1st leg defeat at Wolves. 16 points is tough but do-able. Is it any wonder they haven't won the title for 42 years with fans like that. Please don't tar us all with the same brush. Just because some of them are twats doesn't make all of us the same. I was up at Wolves last night - half of the people on the BSF didn't get any closer than their tellies, and are sat there grizzling about how crap the team is. I will be there on Monday, supporting the team. If they lose, then I'll still be bloody proud of them.

But it is do-able. Wolves are favourites, no doubt about that, but Swindon still have a chance. Albeit a small one. Robins home form has been awesome this season. They have NO chance, there is more chance of Richardson getting a GP place or Subedei having sprouts with his fish and chips every night.[/quote] I sincerely hope that bites you on the arse on Monday night! ;D

I can announce the result already. Woffinden came close with his pathetic rant at Richardson, bottling it in the under 21's and falling off with a 5-1 in the bag at Monmore, but the winners are the west ham promotion, i know this won't please the likes of Schumi, Munners and KevH and i'm sorry for that, i also appreciate that as a New Cross boy i am heavily biased against all things claret and blue, however i genuinely do believe they could be doing far more to improve their crowd numbers, i feel choosing to use the name of a shopping centre instead of west ham is a huge mistake, as is not exploiting the growing betting market, i am well aware that most speedway fans are not interested in gambling and that bringing in 'non speedway fans' will displease many current regulars, nevertheless British speedway is in big trouble and cannot afford to take a luddite stance. I also think that more effort should made at attracting youngsters to the sport, my daughter Erin as part of her Tudor studies recently went to Kentwell house in Suffolk, the school took two coach loads, and travelled back past the Arena raceway a couple of hours before a match started. there must be dozens of coaches making a similar trip every week, obviously short term letting kids in for free doesn't boost the coffers, but they all have money in their pockets and WILL spend it, maybe having a better line in merchandising could be the answer, as could giving out money off vouchers to tempt them back with their parents. Of course these are not reasons to award west ham with this weeks Flapperjack award, they win this for their shocking wall of silence and insult to the proud traditional name of the London Riders Championship. Without doubt the LRC is British speedway's most prestigious event, it was first run in 1930, has been won by the likes of Tom Farndon, Vic Huxley, Vic Duggan, Jack Milne, Jack Young, Ronnie Moore, Barry Briggs, Billy Hamill and the great man himself(Twice), in 1945 it was the speedway world's most important meeting and could be considered that years World championship equivalent, the west ham promotion are now the custodians of this most historical of tournaments, and their treatment of it is absolutely reprehensible, meanwhile they face Eastbourne, Coventry, Ipswich, Wolverhamton etc, a mind numbingly boring SIX times in one season, and then take on Rye House in a completely meaningless inter-league challenge.
Congratulations west ham, you are this fortnights Flapperjack winners.
You should be deeply ashamed.

Righto. Even though it's a couple of days early, I'd better start a new thread before I get more complaints from Star Lady.
