The reason given the McLaren punishment was so severe was that they lied, and denied the charges. Schumi, are you seriously saying that what McLaren did was WORSE than deliberately crashing a car into a wall.

And I also said the McLaren penalty was harsh. You already know that. But if you're going down that route, don't you think Flavio's punishment was harsher than Dennis'?

And I also said the McLaren penalty was harsh. You already know that. But if you're going down that route, don't you think Flavio's punishment was harsher than Dennis'? No, both are out of F1 - don't see any difference. But McLaren's punishment as a team was much heavier than Renault's, despite a much lesser crime. And I don't see what lying or otherwise has to do with it, an axe murderer wouldn't get off a prison sentence if he said he was sorry for doing it.

The reason McLaren's punishment was so severe was that the son of a fascist hated Ron Dennis and Ecclestone hated the fact that McLaren are so superior to the Italian kings of comedy. I must have missed that in the official PR. I don't recall seeing "world domination" in the PR from the son of a fascist's father's great hero the Fuhrer, but few doubt that was the goal.
