Well on behalf of Sweden I'm glad you thought well of us Yeah I noticed there was a couple of hours delay on the text messages, and I didn't make it to the track until 19:30 because of the Stockholm traffic situation. My shift ended at 18:45. Under normal circumstances I would have been at Gubbängen around 19:00 and made my way to the first bend where I gather you were stood. But when I showed up, the first thing I heard was that the meeting was cancelled and everybody was already leaving. Come back next year and we'll give it another shot. By the way, any impressions of Gubbängen even though you didn't see any racing? I know it's old and the facilities are poor, but I love that track
Erik, I was impressed by the way they got the Gubbangen track back into nick prior to the second coming of the rain.
As we arrived it the car park, it really hammered it down, any meeting in the UK would have been called off at that point. But we were told unless it rained again, the meeting would be on. Out came the track machinery and the track staff did a remarkable job.
But as they completed their work at 7.20pm, the rain started again.
A real pity, I was looking forward to seeing the Getingarna Silver Machine (3 Oxford riders from 2005 in the side) in action.
But the track staff did everything they could.
And the facilities were better than 80% of British tracks and also way above Linkopping. Linkopping is a bit of a dump, how did it stage a GP just nine years ago?
