It looks like young Horton doesn't intend to make life easy for the new broom at Cowley. Indeed, it seems the new broom will be thrown out and Horton will be king again, once Horton has paid off the debts Oxford built up during his tenure. According to Silver Bee at the BSF, the Planet Speedway radio show tonight reported the following:
When Horton has paid off his debts he will again be the owner of Oxford speedway.
It was also said Mr. Trump only has the option to promote until the end of the year, and that it will be Hortons decisions once his debts are paid what league Oxford ride in next year, if they do at all.
The return of Horton to Oxford would surely kill the club stone dead - not even the old dependables like Chris Brown and Rob Peasley would stand for it. Be a major achievement to get a handful of people through the gates. Give it up Horton, let it go.

I see the poor old soul has also issued a statement in which he expresses his 'disgust' at some of the things that have appeared in the internet and various other media about him, and that he has had to be persueded not to turn on his heel and walk away from speedway altogether.
Since his credibility rating must by now be sub zero, perhaps that would, in fact, be the most equitable result for speedway as a sport.

To be honest, if it wasn't that they're scared of losing another Elite League club, the BSPA would've taken his licence. And, essentially, I think Horton's using Peterborough as a bargaining chip for the future. If the BSPA take action, he'll turn around and blame them for Peterborough going to the wall. If they don't and at a later date Peterborough goes to the wall, he'll blame the internet mob. But, we'd all do well to remember that Colin Horton was once a part of the internet mob. Horton had his fun at the BSF, teasing the Oxford contingent desperate for team news. You play with fire, young Horton, and there's a very good chance you end up getting burnt.

Horton will not be back at Oxford - the fans won't stand for it and I can't see the BSPA standing for it either.
He has outstanding debts with the landlords, so I can't see him even being able to get through the stadium door.
I think this is one last attempt for Horton - our worst-ever promoter - to upset the Oxford fans. Good riddance to him.
All the best Rob

Stand by the gates and don't let him in Rob - you're a big guy. ;D
I think it's purely a financial thing - if the club reverts back to him (and I'm not entirely sure this isn't another fabrication) he'll get the money from the sale and claw back some of what he claims he's lost.

All the best Rob From what I gather, part of the deal with Allen Trump taking over was that he settled the rent arrears; if that's the case, and he's entered into an agreement whereby Horton has the option to make a comeback next year, either Trump knows something we don't, or he's just entered into the shittest sport contract in history.

DonsKing,
From Planet Speedway tonight, Trump certianly has made NO agreement with Horton.
You lot, stop posting about bloody Horton and start posting about Oxford's future.
Horton has been expunged from the history of Oxford Speedway.
All the best Rob
Edit:
Sorry, fellow, was attempting to quote your post and I seem to have pressed modify instead. However, I've managed to salvage your full comments, so you've only lost the quotes. Once again, sorry.

All the best Rob I suspect young Peasley will, in spite of himself, be going on about Horton some more. According to a post on the BSF, the plot that Horton's lost has thickened, with the Ferrari-driving former owner of Oxford attempting to stop the first meeting of Trump's new era going ahead. It seems that the Messrs Horton are at Cowley claiming ownership of the promoting rights and all equipment. This could get weird enough for me - hell, it might even get too weird.

One hopes the Horde will stand firm when the Teutonic Knight comes knocking at the gates of Mongolistan. Ever hear of the Battle of Liegnitz in 1241, young wibblemuis? Wasn't there myself, you understand - I was far to busy getting into mischief with Batu in Hungary. Strange thing is that although we Mongols slaughtered just about everyone, the Poles manage to celebrate it as a victory.

Whilst understanding BSF Admin's decision to pull all the Horton related threads (the threat of legal action against him), I do agree, it is the end of the BSF as we knew it. A sad day, but every cloud has a silver lining ......... we're all emigrating to Mongolistan.
