Yes indeed, Young Stanley has tied up a deal with household name Harry Ramsden..........and that's only one of the deals that have been secured........... see the official Lakeside website for more details.

That's fantastic news, and proves it can be done by the right people. Great promotion.
As an aside, I often wondered whether any large companies had been approached for sponsorship - Red Bull sponsor a lot of motor sports, so why not speedway?
And I see Jon Cook is giving Matt Ford a helping hand too. (edit: no he's not - other way round!)

Think you may have that the wrong way round Schumi, it says in the article that Cookie is spending time with Matt to see if he can pick Matt's brain about promoting speedway ............ whatever the pair of them are doing it's all pretty positive, this tie up with a national company is fantastic, have we all gotta be buying Harry Ramsden's frozen fish and chips from now on

You mean we're going to have better fish and chips than Rye House ;D Great news for the sport. Even if a couple of people see the adverts and start supporting the Hammers, they will tell their mates and so on. Great idea, and it works for the shopping centre as well because people will go shopping and then onto the speedway, like I do.

So it does - it was a late night. Still, it's good to see the promters getting together and sharing tips and experience - united we stand, divided we fall, and all that.

You mean we're going to have better fish and chips than Rye House ;D Wouldn't be difficult tbh. When we tried the F&C at Rye they tasted like shite, reckon it was all self hype imo. Good to see a club with a house hold name on board though. Arena certainly seem to be moving in the right direction this season.

All I can say is that the chip shops in Hoddesdon and the surrounding area must be completely crap if the Rye fans think the stuff at the stadium is so wonderful!

Excellent bit of work there, however I have never had such disgusting F & C as I had from a Harry Ramsden's last year. Think it was the cardboard box it was packed in .

Excellent news for the Lakeside Hammers, theres no stopping Stan. Good on him! The Rye House fish and chips have gone downhill recently. The last time I had the fish it was nearly all batter. In future I won't have me tea before I set out to Arena! ;D

Wacks, you're to type "It's not Arena Essex anymore, it's now the mighty Lakeside Hammers" 1,000 times. And none of this copy and pasteing lark either.

Surely though Kev for the sake of accuracy Wacks should actually type, 'It's not the Arena Essex Hammers anymore, it's now the mighty Lakeside Hammers who race at Arena Essex' ? ;D

Harry Ramsden's aren't what they once were, which is a great shame. The problem was that the company expanded, listed on the stock exchange and then was acquired by Compass, who seem to have binned much of Harry Ramsden's ethos. Up until 3-4 years ago they were great.
