But why is he sptting the dummy at the new ruling? There are 9 teams in the El, yet he is the only one making a fuss about the new play-offs rule ! So how about if someone offered you a bonus as being one of the Countries top 6 salesmen ... Then Halfway through the season said we are only paying Million pound bonuses to the top 4.... Yet it had been pre agreed and written into a contract? You have missed my point. If all 9 of the potential top 6 salesmen kicked up a fuss, then fair enough. But if only one of them did, and that one was being investigated for cheating, then.....well...... I rest my case. That was my point. Not the fact that it is wrong or unfair to change the rules mid-season.

The Matt Ford witch-hunt should end. He's taken enough stick already. For christ sake Rob, Poole are currently under investigation for match fixing. This is hardly a witch-hunt. Exactly !

No ML he went out for a practice went back to his pit space moaning and crying about the track while claiming he will ride anything. So if he would ride anything why wasnt he out on track with the other 3? The 2 Poole riders were at the tapes and the Lakeside rider was on the track at the pit gate talking to his mechanic while Lee was in the pits crying to the cameras. Total tosser. Interesting take on it Snyp. The fact that Lee was unhappy with the track, and let's face it most of the riders apart from Pans, were unhappy with the track, but he then went out and rode it like a good un, unlike the other Lakelanders who hardly attacked it did they . I'm not really a Richardson fan, but fair play to the guy I say. Orange Ronnie as track co-ordinator , why do Sky think they need an outsider to come in and muck up the the club curator's job. And as for Pearson, saying that it was nothing to do with Sky, whether the meeting went ahead or not yeah right, Steve Brandon has a contract you know

Good morning Flapperjack lovers everywhere. So, the nominees for FOTW this week are:
The twat who told Belle Vue that Kevin Doolan could be their number eight.
Ronnie Russell
Lee Richardson
Matt Ford.
I'll add my own nomination too. It's Phil Chard - the guy who writes the Poole articles in the Bournemouth Echo. That's bloke's articles are probably doing more to make people give up on Poole speedway than any amount of bad track prep and poor results ever could.
His article about Matt Ford supposedly "selling up" was a total scare tactic, and all the closure threats in it came not from Matt Ford by the journalisting fill-ins between the quotes.
TTWTBVTKDCBTNE, Rico and Matty Ford - 2 nominations
Phil Chard, Ronnie Russell - 1.
So let's be democratic and choose between those with two nominations - which goes to prove just how fair and just I am! I've eliminated my own nomination just a couple of minutes after nominating him!
So, looking at the top 3.
Lee Richardson. Not a chance! Sure, he was grumping about in the pits with a face like a slapped arse while they were doing the track, but when the racing started he came out and did the biz. Plus his practice starts while not on a bike were very entertaining.
Matt Ford. Whilst I can see why he is a bit wound up, his public statement on the Poole website just makes all the bitching worse. And everyone knows Poole were fiddling their averages. So why deny it? There are people defending it though, which kind of cancels out a bit.
The twat who told Belle Vue that Kevin Doolan could be their number eight wasn't being too clever was he/she? I mean, they stop Coventry and Poole using the sides they want - which seemed relatively fair enough - then go against their own rule on number 8 averages. But he is below 9 now and Belle Vue are in a bit of a strugle. So, sort of fair.
So, we have three main contenders with both plus and minuses against their name. Hmmm. Difficult. Oh. Hold on a minute! Who's this coming up on the outside in the closing seconds complete with notebook and pen? It's my favourite journalist of all time! Surely he can't... HE HAS!!! What an amazing last gap victory on the line.
And to think I nominated him too. Whata coincidence. It's Phil Chard. Gawd bless you, Mr Chard. You are the surprise winner of this weeks FOTW. Now go and learn what "objectivity" means.

Well isn't that just typical? He couldn't even be bothered to come and collect it himself! I'd have given it to someone else if I'd known.

When I met Phil Chard at Oxford in the Press Box (when John Gaisford was away and I was writing the report for the Oxford Mail), I thought he was a really nice guy.

Grachan, I don't take it seriously either, it's just there's a tradition of me knowing the winners and defending them. ;D

Are you causing trouble again Graham? It would appear so. No worries though. If anyone causes any trouble I'll unleash Paul "Bulldog" Hurry onto them!

That's rather a scary thought. And yes, Phil is a very sweet chap. Travels widely following the Pirates and the Buccaneers too rather than relying on second hand info. I take my hat off to him (even if it is probably on expenses! ).
