Shovlar is trying to claim its Eastbourne and Lakeside he cares about as they are being cheated out of the play offs. The guy is as readable as an open book. He really does make me laugh with his Poole are innocent campaign and now the Poole knew they wouldnt make the 6th place play off lol. If thats the case why would they bring in a world star like Hans only to be left lumbered with his huge wage bill for the rest of the season if it wasnt in the hope of getting to 6th and having a very strong team to turn over the handicap. ....and another dig at Poole! Pathetic!

A good decision. Yet, at the same time, a bloody appalling decision, as Rico has said. You shouldn't change the rules mid-season, whether it be points limits or play-off structure. Clubs started the season knowing the play-off rules and now they've been changed. It's just a joke.

Can only whole-heartedly agree. if ever evidence was needed that the lunatics are running the asylum this is it. And not only do they change the rules but they don't even have the courtesy of giving the real reason behind it's happening, instead spouting some rubbish about fixtures. I have never been so close to walking from the sport as I have this season. It's only the social side of it, and the fact that I actual enjoy what I do that is keeping me there right now.

Chris Holder's views:
"I think that other teams are simply afraid of us. They simply do not want us to get into the play-offs, because I do not see other reasons for a change in the rules during the season. Fortunately, there is still a chance, because, with an away victory you can gather four points, so we will try to still catch the first four."

Statement from Coventry:
COVENTRY Speedway wish to express their disappointment at the recent change to the play-off regulations for this season.
Last month we were punished by the application of a ruling which had been discussed but not voted on, and therefore did not exist. This meant we were punished for doing nothing wrong.
However, the play-offs being for the top six teams was an issue which was voted on at the AGM last winter, and yet now the decision has been taken to change it and go with the top four only.
Whether or not we agreed with the rule at the time, it should have remained in place having been voted upon, and then been reviewed again this winter.
We know why the rule was changed - it was to stop a certain club from getting into the play-offs, and we do not agree with this. It means they have been found guilty before an investigation has taken place and been completed.
If an accusation is made, it should be properly investigated with a verdict then reached based upon the facts. How can you punish someone before they are found guilty, and with a move which will affect other clubs too?
We are unhappy with the current decision-making process in the sport, as we believe in the rules being voted upon, set and applied for the full season.
At present it just appears that they are being made up as we go along - and that does huge damage to the sport's credibility.
