Sube's favourite referee is in attendance at this one, so it's a good job Sube isn't. One thing's for sure - the Hammers are going to have a mountain to climb if they want to get anywhere near the bonus point. Swindon won the away fixture by 34 points.
Lakeside: 1. Andreas Jonsson R/R 2. Simon Stead (Guest) 3. Krzysztof Kasprzak 4. Leigh Lanham 5. Adam Shields 6. Ricky Kling 7. Lubos Tomicek
Swindon: 1. Leigh Adams 2. Tomasz Chrzanowski 3. Lee Richardson 4. Seba Ulamek 5. Charlie Gjedde 6. Andrew Moore 7. Mads Korneliussen

It goes from bad to worse. The Czech federation have insisted Lubos ride in a European meeting tomorrow, so the Hammers have their number 8 - Chris Mills - in his place.

How come Ulamek isn't banned?

How come Ulamek isn't banned? Because the rules are being made up as the season progresses, I think

Lakeside will be lucky to win the meeting with Simon Stead as a guest. It just goes to show, you can't predict Speedway. Brilliant win for Lakeside.

Brilliant win for Lakeside. Indeed, but a shamefully pathetic display from Swindon, Leigh Adams excepted. Swindon must've wished their Polish duo had commitments in their homeland last night. Ulamek's recent form must be a major concern for the Robins.

But a much better home performance from young Ricky Kling, who has silenced his doubters, for the time being. Very pleased for him.

I hope we don't look back on this one as the one that cost Swindon the league. Well done to Lakeside.

But a much better home performance from young Ricky Kling, who has silenced his doubters, for the time being. Very pleased for him. Ricky has had some tuition from one of our senior riders on how to ride the track in a similar way that Lubos did. What a difference it's made and we've now seen the huge potential that Ricky has around our own race track!!!! Other news to come from the meeting is Andreas could be back on Wednesday, but if not he'll definately be back the week after. Joonas is seeing his doctors on Monday and will be advised if he needs an operation on his shoulder now - or if it can wait until the winter - if it can wait, he'll be back Wednesday too, if not we've sadly seen the last of him for this season. Paul Hurry will be having a chat with Cookie during the week with an eye to returning to track action - my guess is on loan in the PL, but who knows? And finally a huge well done to the lads for Friday, you did us proud!!!!!

Sube's favourite referee is in attendance at this one, so it's a good job Sube isn't. For what's it worth, in my opinion he made two howling mistakes during the meeting, but to be fair he did co-operate in the "ask the referee" spot, and credit to him for that. In fact every referee who has visited the track this year has been happy to answer the fans' questions.......... with one exception....... any guesses who?

Don't want to rain on your parade Kev but not sure AJ is ready to return yet from speedwayworldtv. ANDREAS Jonsson insists that his comeback cannot be rushed after a season in which he has been dogged by shoulder injuries. Jonsson was hurt at Cardiff at the end of June when he clipped Chris Harris and crashed into the fourth-bend fence, and his initial comeback in the British League at Eastbourne lasted less than a lap before he fell again. Then he was involved in a spectacular crash at the Czech Grand Prix on July 28, causing him to miss racing in a home event at Malilla, and putting a serious question mark over his participation in Latvia next weekend. Jonsson continues to have intensive treatment on his shoulder but is unwilling to suggest when he might be back in action. He sad: "We're doing our best, but from the beginning the doctors have been speaking about four weeks' break. They are surprised with the progress that's been made, but miracles don't happen and it still needs some time. "Of course I've been following the results of my league teams and it's great that Polonia put up resistance against Zielona Gora, which must have been a very exciting match to watch live. "I'll try to get back on a bike as soon as possible, but the doctors don't want to talk about dates. Everything is up to the progress of the rehabilitation." < Index
