Making a 2 hour journey to watch us get thrashed.... Oh bless, I wasn't thinking that at all. You have certainly got a different team to last year's, and thank god without the Hans bloke . Will be much closer I should think, Danes like our track oh and Poles Will be very surprised if Karol Zabik lines up on Monday - he has gone home to Poland for treatment to the shoulder he injured at Coventry last night

Well I hope he is all right, but that means I still won't see him ride . I have heard so much about him, but never had the pleasure of seeing him on the track.

We'll agree to disagree there Hatcham I think...mind you most of my friends disagree with me over him, but having him rage and swear at Piotr when he was lying unconcious on the track last season due to Hans riding him into the fence has made me put him on my ignore list.

Zabik Ruled Out colpanthers.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=away&action=display&thread=1125Karol Zabik will miss Panthers match at Ipswich tomorrow and is doubtful for Panthers home match on Thursday after sustaining ligament and soft tissue damage to his shoulder following a heat 7 crash at Brandon. His machine seized whilst in the middle of the bend on Friday and he was thrown from his machine, landing awkwardly and damaging his shoulder in the process. He was examined by the Coventry Medical Officer and was withdrawn from the meeting at that point and taken to hospital. Because of hospital delays he wasn’t seen in the UK that night and he undertook a medical examination when he returned to Poland the next morning. Doctors have advised Karol to rest for 2 weeks to allow the injury to mend , although they will have a much better idea of how quickly he will recover or whether its requires further treatment in a few more days. Team manager Trevor Swales said: “It’s bad luck on both Karol and the team because he is riding well at the moment, we are hoping he will be back sooner rather than later but we will have to take it day by day with rider replacement our only facility”.

Oh what a shame, I would have liked to have met you, and a great opportunity as our pits are open to the public tomorrow.
And bad luck for Zabik, perhaps I'll get to see him later on in the year. I think I may have seen him in person, as I understand he stayed with the Louis' once when he was injured a couple of years ago, but never seen him on his bike.

A friend of mine is lucky enough to see plenty of him - as he lodges with her.....

Taken from the official Ipswich Witches site: Witches Want Panthers Victory The Witches will be looking to maintain their good form over their local rivals at Foxhall tomorrow afternoon when they welcome the Peterborough Panthers in SSEL action (parade 3.15pm) Fans are urged to arrive early as Bank Holiday matches are always well attended and with various activies planned the gates will open at 1.15 to allow fans access to areas of the stadium normally they are restricted from entering such as the Pits and the Centre Green.
Children will also be admitted FREE provided they produce a special voucher from the Evening Star or EADT and are accompanied by a paying adult..
The visitors have released the news that Karol Zabik will be absent from their line-up after sustaining injury at Coventry on Friday. In his absence the Panthers will operate the Rider replacement facility. The Witches will be at full strength with skipper Leigh Lanham making his first league performance of the season after his recent enforced lay-off with injury.

Vissing rides today, Team lists were provided to Ipswich before we knew Vissing would be fit enough to be re declared into the team last week.

For a while it looked like the Panthers were going to ruin Comrade Louis' May Bank Holiday parade at the Kremlin in Moscow on Orwell today, but a Tactical Ride saw the Witches through to a win: IPSWICH..481..J Hampel..3,6,2,3,2' = 16+12..L Lanham..1,0,0,0 = 13..T Kroner..1,2,2',2' = 7+24..D King..0,0,3,3,3 = 95..P Swiderski..0,3,0,0 = 36..D Stachyra..1,0,3,3,3 = 107..C Wilkinson..0,1,1 = 2PETERBOROUGH..451..K Bjerre..2,3,2,2,1 = 102..H Bager..0,1,1',1' = 3+23..M Korneliussen..2',1',3,0 = 6+24..K Zabik..R/R 5..N-K Iversen..3,1',1,1',0 = 6+26..C Vissing..3,3,2,2,0,1,0 = 117..K Hansen..2',2',2,1,2 = 9+2Taken from: www.speedwayupdates.proboards103.comI wonder if Trevor Swales is planning on writing a booklet about how to throw away a win? Because that's what the Panthers did today. Still, they get a point for keeping it close.

One wonders how much longer it will be until the knives start heading in Leigh Lanham's direction.

One wonders how much longer it will be until the knives start heading in Leigh Lanham's direction. Lol think Piotr is first in line, he had a stinker today, mind you he was in good company for the first 6 heats TBH, anything that could go wrong did, and when they got to 21-9 in front, I'm afraid I went and hid up Another fine performance by Dawid today, ably assisted by Danny who had a terrible first 2 rides, well actually the first ride he broke the tapes then from 15 his bike packed up, and in his 2nd race he clipped the fence and something flew off his bike and just died on him, but after that brill. Tobi is getting back some confidence and he went well, but poor old Piotr and Wilko saw too much of the shale today, both trying too hard I'm afraid, and no-one is more upset and angry than Piotr himself. Jarek was well Jarek ;D, and as this is the first home meeting for Leigh he gets the benefit of the doubt, but he did look slow in all his races.....race rusty I know, but Foxhall not one of his better tracks but he is a good captain. He'll come good when he's had some track time under his belt. Very exciting last 3 heats. And to say that Trevor Swales was not a happy bunny is an understatement, not sure who he was most angry with
