So with Rigsby backing my nomination of the Bjarne Boo-Boys (fortunate really because it stopped me winning it ), we move onto week 7. Now you might call it a bit of a stitch up, but I don't care. Wacks will be choosing this week's winner.

I would like to nominate the BSPA for blocking the Sunday staging of the 4TT at Swindon between Swindon, Oxford, Reading and Cradley. The date has now been switched from Sunday, August 2 to Thursday, July 30. So what, you may say, the meeting is still going ahead. And yes it is, thanks to Swindon co-promoter Gary Patchett (more about that on the Mutt's Nuts thread in a bit ). But the Cradley fans (who have the furthest to travel) are already indicating that a Thursday staging will give them headaches. Newport had no objection to this meeting taking place, as it would have taken place at a time to allow fans to do BOTH meetings, and in fact, the Cradley Supporters' Club already had been granted permission by Newport to use Paul Fry in the 4TT. So why did the BSPA object to the Sunday date? Some complete guff about inappropriate use of an off-race night. You'd have thought they'd try to help three clubs which no longer have a home track - but no instead we get the usual nonsense from them.

Bernie Ecclestone is worthy of a nomination for his rant about the lack of government support for the British GP, which may mean it'll be cancelled. At a time when everyone is having to tighten their belts, is he seriously suggesting the taxpayer should subsidise his 50 million quid income?
All very well if other countries are prepared to pay more, but ultimately he's killing the golden goose by taking GPs to places where the local population is disinterested. Just look at how empty Bahrain was this weekend.

I nominate a few of the Mildenhall fans. Chris Johnson, who last time I saw him race broke his leg in a horrific crash, came off on the back straight. A mildenhall fan behind me said 'serves him right'. Not to mention many of their fans consisent booing and shouted abuse at the away riders. I'd have thought almost losing their precious track would have improved the Mildenhall fans. Seemingly I was wrong - not a place I want to visit unless I have to.

The Sunday would have been OK but Thursday is a no no. Never mind

The BSF for disqualifying me for not putting my nominations in quick enough for the GP competition. I have been working every day for the past 7 days.

I give 5% of my vote to the BSPA for blocking the 4TT Meeting. Dickheads. The 95% of my vote goes to the Belle Vue Management for banging another nail into the coffin of British Speedway with the charade they put on last night. Just under 3 hours to run a 15 heat meeting??? and therefore depriving the youngsters of much needed track time.
Absolute Flapperjacks.

The Belle Vue mismangement and - in particular - Gordon Pairman seem very worthy nominees and not only for the fiasco of last evening. There is still the affair of Thomas H Jonasson rumbling along. On the Monarchs Chatzone last week I wrote the following:
It always appeared to me to be a triumph of vanity over sanity when Belle Vue decided to sign Jonasson as a "double-uper", knowing full well of his very extensive other commitments. The next "big thing" from Sweden joining the Aces certainly had the Mancunian supporters in high spirits. It seems that the Belle Vue mismanagement agreed to a set number of meetings for Jonasson with Boxall taking the bulk of the fixtures. No doubt they expected Boxall to produce the goods but he hasn't. It appears to me that Chris Morton is now hanging Jonasson out to dry instead of accepting that he made an error in signing him in the first place.
Mr Pairman clearly has his spies, for within a couple of hours he had fired back his response on the Chatzone and it was:
Can I just try to clarify matters, please? The comments that you are referring to have come from supporters and not the Belle Vue management. Chris Morton has not "hung Thomas out to dry" nor would I expect that he would EVER do that to ANYONE. When Steve Boxall phoned Chris at the weekend to say he had injured himself and would not be able to ride, Chris phoned Thomas to see if he was available. When Thomas said he couldn't do the meeting, we decided to use our number 8. We put out a press release saying "Belle Vue have been forced into a change for tonight's Knockout Cup first round first leg tie against Ipswich at Kirkmanshulme Lane (7 30). Aussie youngster Josh Grajczonek , who scored 14 for his Premier League club Glasgow yesterday, comes in for his debut in place of Steve Boxall who has a knee injury" Nowhere was Thomas mentioned and nowhere has any blame been "piled onto him" by the Belle Vue management. All we did was go through the correct procedure of offering a meeting to our second double rider who has the right to say no which then means we use our number 8 if available or an eligible guest.
Fair enough, except then the self-appointed Mr Belle Vue decided to post Mr Pairman's programme notes from last evening on the Belle Vue forum and they somewhat contradicted his "Chatzone" views. The relevent parts of the programme notes were:
As a promotion, we have never allowed cost to get in the way of fielding as strong a team as possible and it is therefore dissappointing to find riders declining to ride for the Aces simply because they choose not to take a flight from Poland on a Monday evening.
Not surprisingly, of course, it never seems to be the top riders that get picky, but the lesser lights who maybe have the wrong view of their own importance. And it is why it is so much better dealing with true professionals, like Jason last year and like Krzyzstof this year who organise their own travel and plan their lives around a tight schedule.
A good example was last week when Chris discovered Steve Boxall had picked up an injury riding moto-x. His immediate route was to contact out second double up rider, which he did. I won't go into any details what then happened but I find it disappointing that a rider given the opportunity to ride in the Elite League declines the offer on the flimsiest of excuses.
Does Mr Pairman take speedway supporters for complete and utter morons?

100% of my vote as things stand to the BV Management - talk about not knowing your arse from your elbow.
Though I've got a feeling a Chipmunk might make a bid for this weeks honour live on Sky, if they are there.
