However, inside the program on page 27 was this from Mark Plummer (Peterborough Evening Telegraph): While there is no doubt that the new system does maintain interest right to the end of the majority of meetings, there is something not quite right in my mind. Panthers promoter Mick Bratley was quoted in the winter as saying that the other major Speedway nations will follow Britain's lead and will also introduce this new scoring system. I'm not quite so convinced! Well, you can tell Mr Plummer I have been told by a very reliable source that the Poles are taking a very keen interest in the new points allocation system and could well follow suit.

Yes, I must be the only rider in the world that has ridden for a team for five different seasons but have not started the season once! That will be one for a future quiz question! It's great to be back - I feel that Peterborough is my home in the UK with so many friends here. I had a great welcome last week with lots of people saying how nice it was for me to be back and I can agree, it's great to be back with you guys. Thank you for all your great comments on Facebook as well! You know who you are (and no doubt we do as well don't we zonkers). I enjoyed it so much as you can tell from my first ride last week as I made a storming the gate and probably rode the track in the quickest time I probably ever had. Unfortunately the set up I had was ruined later in the night when I had a bolt break within the engine casing. Although I had a second bike, the first bike was still quicker around the showground than the set up on my second bike! At least I know I got the setup right and I will be quick to make a mental note for tonight (May 7 Panthers v Belle Vue). We will have that all sorted for the next time out so I should be back to my best! Obviously, coming in a little later than the other guys in the team can potentially be difficult but I know many of the riders here as I have ridden with them before so getting back into the team set up was not that difficult. There are some great riders at the club for with the experience of Niels and Kenneth and with the likes of Mads and Karol riding so well! It makes me feel confident that the club will achieve something great this year and it's about time Panthers were fighting for the top spot in the league again. At the tail end of last season I got a taste of what the new management and promotional team were all about and that made the decision to come back even easier. It's a great set up at this club are with a very positive vision for the future and I would like to be involved. With me coming back - it's time for the dancing and waving in the stands to return I reckon! You saw a taste of it last time out but I want many more of you to join with me when I celebrate a win! For me, I just enjoy racing and I love winning and sharing it with you so get up and join in! Trust me, when I stop enjoying it I will go back home and finish the development of my house. Elsewhere in the programme - "next week before the Poole meeting we have a very important appointment at RAF Wittering we are having a photo shoot with a Harrier Jump Jet and some of the pilots at the base. Niels will be representing the team and will be taking his bikes along and also the Panthers Crew will be in attendance to add a touch of glamour. It is a great opportunity for us; the resultant pictures will make many potential sponsors think that we really are a team to consider joining forces with. Of course, our relationship with RAF Careers has prompted the photo opportunity and we must thank them for that." Ha ha ha ! You are funny, Riggers ! ;D And I didn't have him as a friend on Facebook, buit decided to add him after reading that ! Lol !! ;D you joined up yourself yet...? ;D Talking of the Crew girls - what do you reckon to the 2 new ones this week....? An improvement methinks ! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) And - skirts....!!! ?? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I thought I had signed up as Rupert Rigsby but I can't find my login details.
As for The Crew girls, I must be getting old, I'd have bought a two minute clock, some new sponsor boards and some clean banners for the air fence ;D

Top talk (The Frost Report) May 14 2009 " back to business as usual" Those of you who were at the showground last Thursday would have seen the fine display by all our riders. They all scored well despite Bjerre and Mads having the mechanical problems and it shows just how good the team is despite the absence of Karol Zabik. Belle Vue are not the strongest of teams this year but bear in mind that some of their riders know their way around the showground circuit so it was never going to be an easy home meeting. Thanks to all our supporters who were there giving their backing and encouragement to our team. They well deserved it! Tonight we welcome back to the showground the Poole Pirates. As reigning champions they have had a poor start to the season but no doubt changes are in the pipeline to put matters right. Whether these changes will come into effect in time for tonight's meeting isn't sure but either way we can be sure of a very good meeting against a professional and well organized club. " united we stand, divided we fall" As many of you know, we called a rider's meeting before the meeting against Belle vue to clear the air in the light of recent events. They were all unsettled by the many reports they had read/seen and clearly this needed to be resolved to restore confidence and team spirit. I'm sure that was achieved judging by the riders fine team performance later. Let's carry on this way as a united team and ignore the writings and words of the negative, ignorant and frequently anonymous people who are seemingly trying to divide us. (a good piece spoiled, that was the barb it didn't need). One point I think needs clarifying once and for all is the team itself. The management spent a lot of time, energy and thought into putting our team together and the changes we have made to date have been necessary for the success of the team. We have recognized and accepted where mistakes have been made with our original team selection and we have taken the necessary actions to correct that. The result is a stronger and more united team who work better together. I'm sure you will have noticed the improvement in team riding tactics and a more thoughtful approach to the way meetings can be won if we work as a team and not a bunch of individual riders. Soon we will have completed the necessary 12 meetings at which point the team average will be raised to allow changes to be made if deemed necessary. Some teams will clearly have to make changes but if our team continue to ride together as I know they can then I will have no need to make any further changes. I will certainly hope that this is the case because all of our riders are my friends also and I value their friendship, so to see anyone leaving would be a sad day for me! (it finished with a couple of paragraphs and about domestics for the British Grand Prix and the Speedway World Cup) Enjoy the racing and support your team and club always. Rick Probably because you perceive yourself as one of the negative, ignorant and frequently anonymous he refers to. To be fair he is probably right

I hoped that you were better than that but clearly not, once a tit always a tit. I saw that you'd posted and thought here we go, we know what he's going to say and he'll forget what he said before. And you call me predictable ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) Brought a smile to my face as that word (predictable) is something a good friend of mine has always said was your middle name.

Yup! That's the way it goes, firstly some moronic comment, secondly a one liner, one worder and/or silly smilie followed by an insulting third post if lucky, priceless indeed ;D If you could get someone to read the thread title and programme to you then you could even join in nicely and contribute something meaningful, I appreciate that it'd be difficult for you and those you mix with to stomach but nothing ventured nothing gained, you might enjoy it ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) That's a very appropriate avatar you've got isn't it!

Well, thanks for posting them anyway, Riggers. It gives those of us who can't make it to Peterborough a chance to read the thoughts of the promotion.

I would say Rick Frost got you spot on
Negative - always, Ignorant - sometimes, Anonymous - everytime
Trevor you really should get more, you really come across as one sad, lonely old git, whose only friend is a keyboard.

you really should get more. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) No comment. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Seriously, can we get this thread back on track please? You both make valid points when you want to, and I'm sure no-one wants to see what's an interesting thread deteriorate. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Yup!- followed by an insulting third post if lucky, priceless indeed ;D And there it is! Can read you like a book mate and not a very good book at that. And the last bit just about sums you up and you fully meet all 3 elements of Frost's criteria (although I doubt that he came up with it alone) so welcome to the club. Probably not quite in the context of the programme piece but you're a keyboard commando all the same. You want to have a word with Wayne Swales, he seems a decent chap and would help to calm you down a bit. Negative - always, Ignorant - sometimes, Anonymous - everytime Oh yes, I've just remembered something else which will help you here: I remember how I found out about this forum. It was during one of those periods when the Peterborough forum mysteriously went off line and I was therefore using Updates as an alternative. I was invited across by a forum user partly I assume due to my constant support for Colin Horton and Peterborough Speedway (can you spot the link there!) which was at odds to his opinion and virtually the opinion of everyone else outside Peterbororough, as well as the majority of posters on here. I still defended Horton and Peterborough which proved in the end to have been a positively fruitless and misplaced exercise. I also remember defending Horton late one evening during one of those nasty periods on the BSF and receiving a PM (You may even know the person who sent it but I was sworn to secrecy although it doesn't matter now because Horton's gone) with information to keep my crusade going. Doesn't seem negative, ignorant or anonymous does it.
