And paulco's beloved heathen Tigers face only a two point deficit when they face the Rebels at the Messiahdome on Sunday following a great performance at the Oak Tree Arena tonight in the KO Cup: SOMERSET..461..S Johnston..1',3,1',2',2 = 9+32..S Walker..R/R 3..J Sedgmen..1,0,1',1,2 = 5+14..E Kramer..3,3,3,3,1' = 13+15..C Gathercole..2,2,2,2,3 = 116..J Herne..0,0,2,0 = 27..T Brown..2,2,1',0,0,1 = 6+1GLASGOW..441..S Parker..3,2,3,1,3 = 122..R Brady..R/R 3..P J Larsen..0,1,0,1 = 24..J Grajczonek..2,3,3,3,2,0 = 135..T McGowan..3,2,2,0 = 76..M Davey..0,3,1',0,1,3,0 = 8+17..D Mallett..1,0,1',0 = 2+1Taken from: www.speedwayupdates.proboards103.comSomerset, like Workington, looking over-reliant on their heat leaders and almost coming unstuck when their heat leaders find themselves against other strong heat leaders.

Only heat 11 provided any sort of entertainment, the rest of the meeting was pretty much dire. Glasgow should take care of the tie on Sunday,if they don`t get through they need stuffing ;D

And in just about the only meeting to beat the weather today the Somerset Rebels came up with a Ht 15 to claim what, for a long time, looked an unlikely victory against King's Lynn at the Oak Tree Arena: SOMERSET..461..S Johnston..0,3,1',3,2' = 9+22..J Sedgmen..R/R 3..E Kramer..3,1,3,2 = 94..S Walker..0,0,2,0,1' = 3+15..C Gathercole..3,3,0,2',3 = 11+16..J Herne..3,0,2',2,1,1' = 9+27..T Brown..1,0,2',0,2 = 5+1KING'S LYNN..441..T Topinka..2',2',3,1 = 8+22..L Eklof..3,3,3,2',0 = 11+13..E Sanchez..2,0,0,3 = 54..D Ward..1',1,3,3,1 = 9+15..C Schramm..1,2,1',0 = 4+16..K Smith..1',1',2,0 = 4+27..J Graversen..2,0,1,0 = 3Taken from: www.speedwayupdates.proboards103.comA scintillating debut from Linus Eklof the highlight for the Stars, while for Somerset Jay Herne enjoyed a very good meeting.

Young Eklof certainly had a great meeting, was fast from the gate and rode the Somerset track well seeing it was the first time he had seen it, one for the future.

It`s official,I along with Mrs DB and daughter, plus the Moose and the Sump will be in attendance on Friday night when the Wasps are in town. Now I know your all thinking "why`s he taking the wife"? It`s obviously because I loves her ,but we also need somebody to drive us home after we`ve had a night on the lash ;D Hope the meeting is just as good as the last one involving these two teams, and in the true spirit of race relations,I`ll even let Najjer buy me pint if he decides he wants to meet up

And Mr and Mrs dietbowers witnessed a comfortable win for the Rebels: SOMERSET..561..E Kramer..3,2,3,3,1 = 122..J Sedgmen..0,1',0,0 = 1+13..S Walker..3,0,1',3 = 7+14..C Gathercole..2',3,2,3 = 10+15..S Johnston..3,3,3,0,3 = 126..T Brown..2,2',2',2' = 8+37..J Herne..1',0,3,2' = 6+2NEWPORT..361..M Lemon..2,1',1,1',2 = 7+22..P Fry..1',2,2,0 = 5+13..B Werner..0,0,2,1 = 34..C Kerr..1,1,1',1 = 4+15..J Frampton..1',3,3,4,0 = 11+16..K Newman..0,0,0,0 = 07..J Holder..3,2,1',0 = 6+1Taken from: www.speedwayupdates.proboards103.comThat Werner-Kerr pairing doesn't look very good for the Wasps, does it? Kerr not tumbling so much these days, but maybe that's because he's not firing as he has done in the past. Maybe the knocks have caught up with him?

As per my posting on the BSF:
Quite true, Kerr and Werner especially for the Wasps were bordering on pathetic. Paul Fry was prepared to get stuck in and mix it up like normal as was Jordan Frampton, who was much more like the Jordan Frampton from last season and looked super quick at times. James started well but faded badly and Kyle Newman was never in it. Typical Mark Lemon 'Reading' performance in that one minute he looked well up for it, and the next totally disinterested. Jordan apart, very poor from the Wasps.
Emil Kramer was the pick of the Somerset lot in his first ever meeting in the number1 racejacket in Somerset colours, he was simply awesome. Steve Johnston looked like he had a point to prove last night, his Heat 4 passes on Frampton and Holder was exceptional. On the wrong end of a very hard (but fair) first bend from Jordan in Heat 13 but apart from that was a very sound performance. Cory Gathercole had a very strange night by his standards in that he just went about his business very quietly and got the job done. Much improved performance from Simon Walker, and both reserves were excellent. Brown's victory over Lemo and then Herne being passed, only to repass Paul Fry a lap later being their main highlights. Justin Sedgmen however was very disappointing.
Passing galore last night on a very well prepared track, as per usual. Emil Kramer seemed to make about 3 or 4 passes himself. His pass up the inside of Jordan Frampton in Heat 15 was just awesome, he seemed to come from about 5 miles back. His 1st bend in Heat 13 is also up there with one of the best I've ever seen. Great performance anyway from the Rebels, leaving the promotion with a 'nice problem' due to us having over a point to make changes with if they see fit to. Onwards and upwards for the mighty Rebels, meaning the Wasps are still yet to beat us this season having taken just the 1 point in the draw at the Hayley Stadium earlier in the Trophy
Also to add, thought the referee made a total cock up on two occasions. Firstly in Heat 4 James Holder should of been excluded for taking Herne's leg away in bend 1, after Herne had previously cut across him fairly. Then in Heat 11 when she excluded Paul Fry. Admittedly it was clear that Fry took Lemon out, but as per the rules if two members of the same team come together then it is the rider who falls gets excluded. She's normally useless, and last night she didn't disapoint.

And victories don't come much easier than the one Somerset claimed against Berwick at the Oak Tree Arena tonight: SOMERSET..611..E Kramer..3,3,3,2',2' = 13+22..S Walker..2',2',2,1 = 7+23..J Sedgmen..3,0,3,3 = 94..C Gathercole..2',3,2',0 = 7+25..S Johnston..3,3,3,3,3 = 156..T Brown..2,0,2',2 = 6+17..J Herne..0,2',1',1 = 4+2BERWICK..351..M Makovsky..0,2,0,1 = 32..W Lawson..1,1',0 = 2+13..P Clews..1,1',0,2,1 = 5+14..J Franc..0,2,2,6,0 = 105..G Franchetti..0,1,0,0 = 16..G Blair..1,0,1,0 = 27..T Aarnio..3,1,6,1,1 = 12Taken from: www.speedwayupdates.proboards103.comEmbarrassingly inept performance from most of the Borderers this evening - only Aarnio and Franc emerging with any credit - Somerset are far from being a good side.

Next up for the Rebels are the Moanarchs tomorrow night. I have decided to grace the OTA with my presence once again, this time without family, but with the Moose, the Sump and the Brick,so there`s not much chance of a sensible post from me until the Thursday ;D

Berkshire branch of the Monarchs SC will be in attendance. Rico But, sadly for the Berkshire branch of the Monarchs SC, the "invisible speedway" rider wasn't in attendance - missing, presumed missed flight. And in his absence the Rebels defeated the reigning champions with some ease: SOMERSET..501..E Kramer..3,3,1,2 = 92..S Walker..0,W = 03..J Herne..0,1,2',1 = 4+14..C Gathercole..3,0,3,1 = 75..S Johnston..3,3,3,3,0 = 12 6..T Brown..1',1,0,0,3 = 5+17..J Sedgmen..1,2,2',2',1,2',3 = 13+3EDINBURGH..401..R Fisher..3,3,2,2,1 = 112..M Wethers..2',2',3,1',3 = 11+33..A Tully..1',2,0,2 = 5+14..M Rajkowski..2,0,1,0 = 35..M Bates..0,N,N = 06..A Summers..3,1,2',1,0,2 = 9+17..S Stoddart..0,1,0 = 1Taken from: www.monarchs-chatzone.co.ukThe meeting was also delayed because Somerset's Emil Kramer's flight into the UK hadn't arrived in time for him to make the scheduled start time. But it is the missing Jonasson that will be the hot topic of conversation, as his British website is closed down and doubts are raised about his future. I imagine these are troubled times for young Jonasson, who not only lost his father a few short weeks ago but was also in the meeting where Sonke Petersen was so sadly injured.

But, sadly for the Berkshire branch of the Monarchs SC, the "invisible speedway" rider wasn't in attendance - missing, presumed missed flight. And in his absence the Rebels defeated the reigning champions with some ease: Wandered into the pits as we arrived quite early and saw a large gap where our number 5 should have been tonight and was obviously gutted. Not sure the situation is clear as to what has happened so I won't comment on THJ's non appearance. What I will say is well done to the rest of the team who put up a decent fight against the Rebels and heats 14 and 15 are 2 of the best races I've seen in a long time. Track was very dusty by the end but it didn't stop them serving up some super action. Can't quite believe how Gathercole got up so quickly after his coming together with Fisher in heat 5, that was quite scary. Hope Walker is ok after his spill. The ref tonight was like Ebdon on speed - putting the 2 minutes on as the riders went over the line on most occasions. Kramer was fortunate to make even his second ride as the fence needed repairing after Gathercole's crash in heat 5. Looking forward to my trip back down there for the pairs. Rico

Somerset have been fined £900 for delaying the meeting last night. It was a nonsense the meeting was delayed in the first place no matter who was missing or delayed.
As for THJ not turning up, I guess we will have to wait for the promotion to speak to him before issuing a statement. Let's hope we are not bullshitted. Missing one flight fair enough that can happen but to miss two....errrrr.
Like Sube though I do fear for THJ with what has happened to him over the past month.
