after three seasons in the Ekstraliga sun, Rzeszow are relegated. Well, some seriously dubious decisions this year, so I'm not surprised. Now, will Marta Poltorak really resign?

good entertainment as usual. Still struggle with the class of junior when the reserves appear to be there on age and nothing to do with ability. Take Holder today. Just seems strange to me.

And that is just about that for the Polish season. The re-arranged Zlotego Kasku (Golden Helmet) will be available at the usual address on-line on October 25th, 2008, but other than that, it's about done and dusted. Thanks to everyone who has joined us over the course of the season. I hope that you've enjoyed our coverage of the Ekstraliga season and that we'll see you all again next year, when the Ekstraliga line-up should be:
Torun Leszno Zielona Gora Czestochowa Gorzow Wroclaw Bydgoszcz Gdansk

All 3 of Adam Shields sides got to the play offs, 2 in the final, but all 3 lost. He never twisted a throttle in anger for any team.....

Still never mind dose not detract from the meetings/racing. Imagine the fuss if introduced over here. best wishes to all fellow Polish league followers. Take care.

It's the rules and they stick to them. And it does mean that duffers like Steve Johnston, Billy Janniro and Travis McGowan aren't eligible for the easy option of dropping to reserve because they've been riding poorly. It also ensures a steady stream of new talent, since once a rider reaches the age of twenty-one, he has to move into the main body of the team, creating not only space for new young riders, but often the trickle down of riders to the lower leagues. A junior not able to "cut the mustard" at the Ekstraliga level once he's past twenty-one could find himself a place with a Liga I or Liga II side.
