Here is the link that tells the story so far. Think I might stop shopping at Sainsbury's now I notice over on the Chatzone that Mike Hunter has posted that this could turn out to be "the best thing that has ever happened to us". In his interview with us last year, Mr Hunter was asked about Berwick's Berrington Lough stadium and said: " It was a superb achievement and showed how dedicated the Bandits’ fans who were involved were. I would have liked the track to be a little wider but it was a neat, compact venue. It may well be that Edinburgh will need to come up with something similar some time soon and I hope we can do as well." Now, the supermarket giants are notoriously sensitive about how they're preceived by the populous and they don't tend to think very much of offending potential customers. So maybe Sainsbury's will offer to help the Monarchs find a new dwelling and perhaps cough over a few readies to help the process of building a new stadium along the lines of Berrington Lough?

Worrying times for the Monarchs, I'm sure. Who currently owns the stadium?

It was John Hefferman, but I'm not sure about now.

That's an interesting point Subedei . All these big supermarkets do that with football teams , whether they treat speedway in the same vein is another matter though . When you see the development surrounding Armadale , most of us couldn't see the Monarchs continuing there past their 2011 agreement anyway . Hopefully the Monarchs promotion are well ahead with their contingency plans for a new home once Armadale is no more .

And the Monarchs have spoken: www.edinburghspeedway.com/news/article.asp?id=651The use of the term "all parties" may be seen as including Sainsbury's, so perhaps the supermarket giant will be involved in relocating the Monarchs. It also identifies Kenny Waugh (presumably not the Kenny Waugh I know, who is an owner-driver for Tarmac) as the owner of Armadale, which satisfies young h's earlier question.

That's quite an encouraging statement - it reads like that there is a plan. Fingers crossed for the Monarchs.

That does make good reading, thanks for that. And I would also say that Livingstone is far more 'user friendly' than Armadale...good luck to everyone involved.

Armadale is just one junction further along the M8 than Livingston. And once I've finished building the Airdrie-Bathgate Rail Link Project, you'll be able to get the train from Edinburgh direct to Armadale.
