But that doesn't make it right does it, as if this is the case, it is only helping one or two clubs, when the money should be available from AL to EL. Without the BEL, there wouldn't be any Sky money, so I can understand why it goes to prop up that league alone. Secondly, if the money were handed directly to the promoters, they no doubt blow on rider wages, or worse, even run off with it. At least TR has a degree of control in his role as benefactor. And that's what TR wants us all to believe  As I have said before, Sky really don't have any input until the play offs, that is what they are interested in, along with GP WTC, so TR has a big input of what happens until then I think you will find. And if he has creamed so much of the money, so he should put it back into the sport. |

I actually think that this discussion has arisen from yet another PR from Poppa Dugard which is designed with his own agenda to the fore.
I've never been his #1 fan, but look back at the statements attributed to him over the last winter, and he's made himself a laughing stock.
I think it's unfair the way many people are seeing the BSPA (or promoters in general) as the anti-christ in this affair on the back of a PR from Bobby Bullshit. Let's face facts, the Sky deal is done, and was done years ago.........like it or not it's a deal, and one that both parties should stick to...........if either party want to make changes, then the time and the place to do that is when the deal is being re-negotiated........not now!!!

Can't see EL clubs dropping to 1 home & away meeting now, for one thing season tickets have been sold on a guaranteed number of meetings.
As Kev has indicated, it's more just a case of Dugard throwing toys again.

About time too!! There's no way clubs should lose out from having matches televised. Sky need to cough up or bugger off. Yeah thats the way,bugger off Sky and take virtually the only way of taking league speedway into peoples living so giving a wider audience a look at speedway.Ive a feeling that its Sky who will be telling Eastbourne and any other EL club who dont find the deal acceptable to bugger off.Bob Duguard may be a little Hitler down Arlingon way but he has met his match with Sky.Anyway by the look of the Eastbourne team this year Duguard wont have to worry about EL speedway for much longer. |

You wonder why sky carry on anyhow take ipswich when it comes to sky they are up in arms about not being on sky moan moan moan then the moment they are on sky they make a complete pigs ear of it no crowd the track is a shambles and the place just looks like a shithole and the racing is the worst your ever likely to see anywhere What happens next you get the same fans and louis who have been moaning about sky not showing them saying they don't want sky to be at there matches . Terry Russell get a lot of stick but i am thankful for him for helping put speedway matches back on tv and if he makes money by doing so good for him, but it's near impossable task to go forward when some got clubs like ippo just moaning and playing the hard done by card all the time no mattter what he does . |

And as for TR bringing speedway to TV, I'm afraid I'm one of those that actually think the EL speedway on TV is stopping many fans from going to live speedway because they can get their fix on a Monday night, and probably most think it's boring like the TV meetings every week, so don't bother to go. But as we have got it on, I don't change my view that not enough money is being filtered through to the clubs, and the grass roots. It's lining certain well heeled pockets, saviour of one or two clubs or not. |

As for sky you were the biggest moaning minnie of all time about Ipswich not being on sky (tr fault again no doubt ) but as soon as sky rolled into town sure enough you moan about them being on !!!!

Agree with you that Id like to see more PL matches on Sky.Maybe without the GP stars we will see better racing in the EL but if one or two of the EL clubs are becoming rather arrogant or ignorant towards Sky then Im sure the would be made most welcome by clubs in the PL. |
