The trouble is oxonian, that the management committee probably give blanket approval because they've more or less given up on integrity. We'll always disagree about this, but I thought it shameful the way Oxford were allowed a guest facility for Ales Dryml earlier in the season, without a justifiable reason being made public. The current situation with Hancock at Reading is similarly murky. The BSPA has sacrificed probity in a desperate attempt to rescue this Elite League season. Furthermore, of course, they fear that the GP riders will laugh in their faces and tell them where to stick their league.

Furthermore, of course, they fear that the GP riders will laugh in their faces and tell them where to stick their league. Then let us call their bluffs and refuse to employ them. That just may be the answer. You would then feel sorry for the Adams and Crumps of this world who have given 100% commitment to the Elite League but to be honest there isn't too many others that you can make a case for. So who would we really miss Pedersen - not really, he takes the mickey really Adams - deserves to stay here as he has always given his all Andersen - so far has generally been committed Hancock - would haev yes until this season Crump - ditto Adams Harris - would be unfortunate Jonsson - another one who uses us Gollob - not here Jagus - Not here Hampel - Not here Holta - not here Nicholls - will be out of the GP's next year so it won't affect him B Pedersen - in the Crump and Adams group Zagar - takes the mickey Lindback - clearly didn't think he needed us and then makes silly demands So out of the 15 regular GP riders probably 5 would be penalised by us dispensing with them. You could put forward an argument to say that British riders should be exempt from a ban but most of the rest of them wouldn't be missed I say lets get on with it

Talking to Andy Valente and PTW at Berwick during their tour and they said Bjarne Pedersen wasn't that interested in the GPs. And his performances seem to suggest that. I don't think he'll be in the circus next season. And this is, supposedly, the last hurrah for Adams, although, like Gollob I think that could be fluid - a good year and they'll hang around. And fair play to the likes of Gollob, Holta, Hampel and Jagus - at least they've the integrity to say that Britain just doesn't appeal and don't just go through the motions and mess people about.

He has given good service to us apart from a few absences with a recurring problem with gall stones. It is not only England he has missed when the pain has been too much. He has missed Sweden as well. I suggest few people would work with such pain.

Nicki Pedersen will ride in Sweden tomorrow but has cancelled his Danish league commitments on Wednesday in order to consult his physiotherapist after his crash in Poland last night.

Looks like a busy week coming up for Nicki:
Tonight - GP at Daugavpils Tomorrow - Poland, Rzeszow Monday - EL at Wolverhampton Tuesday - Sweden, Hammarby Wednesay - Denmark, Slangerup Thursday - ELRC at Kings Lynn Friday - Day off (phew) Saturday - EL, Eastbourne
Plus now that Hammarby look set to come second in the Elitserien Nicki's able to ride for his Russian club, Togliatti. Now that's what I call commitment.

He'll be representing Eastbourne on Monday unless there's a very good reason not to - the EL could do with many more like Nicki - The World Champion Elect!!!

As for his wrists he got them sorted in the winter and this season he is suffering from Gallstones

And a point well made!! I couldn't believe you'd snatched a draw when the news filtered through to the bastion!!

Hmmm, what's the betting that Nicki develops a problem with his wrist after Poland on Sunday, but makes a remarkable recovery for Sweden on Tuesday Nope, it didn't happen Rob. And just in case you didn't see my recent Nicki post elsewhere I'll copy and paste it here for you. This is what I posted on the BSF just before the end of the meeting: "Nicki Pedersen rode Saturday in the GP, Sunday in Poland, Monday at Wolves, Tuesday in Sweden, yesterday in Denmark, today at King's Lynn. He has a day off tomorrow and then rides for Eastbourne again on Saturday and in Poland on Sunday. All those complaining about riders who don't take this seriously should take a look at Nicki. Like him or not, he's a 100%er and totally deserves to win this." You might wonder why, but looking through the hundreds of posts I've read about the ELRC they all seem to be complaints about riders, the track, commentary etc. Some of them are fair enough, but I wanted to put a different spin on it. Let's not see ONLY the negatives - what about the positives? Riders like Nicki P and Leigh Adams not only give great entertainment, ride elsewhere several times a week, come here to ride in a meeting the fans are branding "pointless, pathetic and meaningless" and STILL gave it their all and take it seriously. Credit where it's due. Speedway needs more Nickis and Leighs, and the sport would be a lot worse off without riders like them in it.

spot on Schumi. I was fed up last night, but not because of the riders. But to be fair, Nicki and Leigh weren't the only riders who gave it 100%.
They stood out for me because they were the ones out there trying to sort it out.

Too bloody true, Rob seems hell bent on bringing the level down to Oxfords. To be fair, you have to add Hans to that list - he was clearly not 100%, but rode nonetheless - more that you can say for the ginger whinger!!!

If he stops acting like a spoilt brat and gets on with the job in hand I may rethink. But until that point I was a big fan of Hans - shame he had to ruin it.
