And here is the word from the official site: www.berwickspeedway.co.uk/news-item/bandits-complete-with-lawson.htmSo, the Bandits are complete and the side doesn't look too bad after all. Should be good enough for mid-table and a bit of good fortune could see it a little higher. Much will depend on the form of Lawson (who was "iffy" after returning from his collarbone break last season) and Aarnio who showed promise.

Looks like the type of side you'd expect from a new promotion but at least it's one capable of winning at home.

Glad to see William signed up, even if it is Berwick ML - I'm highly surprised that the Monarchs let Lawson go and retained THJ. I know I've been a tease regarding THJ at times, but all joking apart, he is a rider with very heavy commitments elsewhere (because he's a talented rider and those will always be in demand) and he's bound to be unavailable at times. Edinburgh got away with covering his absences this year, but it might be tougher in 2009 with a couple of riders having moved on and a less solid line-up at Armadale. I think letting William Lawson move away is a mistake.

What makes you think it was Edinburgh letting Lawson go?
William wanted to go and made that clear to Edinburgh at the end of the season but I have no idea to his reasons.

Really pleased Lawson coming to Berwick, a season on a Bigger track will do his career no harm at all and with major track being carried out br Ian Rae thanks to the new owners, the move could benefit both parties.

I still think it's a mistake for Edinburgh to retain THJ. You'd be better off to keep both Sneddon & Summers and go for a solid bottom end.

And this Saturday, February 14th sees the Grand Launch of a new era at Berwick. Real buzz round SFP these days with many fans keen to see the season start. Not too many weeks now till the racing starts in what is possibly the strongest looking Premier League since it started.

That's great news. Things are really looking up for Berwick this season.

I'll be making my first visit to Berwick next weekend. Anything I should know, places or people to avoid, or good people to talk to? Good or bad food at track... where the bar is, paulco?

Hate to disappoint you, but i dont think Berwick has a bar. It doesn't, you have to go to the pub up the road, and Rhidassa, don't forget to get a darkie's walloper from the chippie.
