Good ol' Rosco. If only every team manager in the country shared his passion for the sport. Wacks - I'm starting to get concerned about you...

Genghis, I know it's hard to accept being a rival fan of Swindon. But look beyond the colours that Rosco wears and ignore the yokel accent, you too will see what a legend of his time he truly is.

Wacks, OK I've ignored the colours he wears AND the yokel accent, and come to the following conclusion: Rosco is still a prat.

ROBINS ARE COMPLETE
SWINDON have completed their 2009 squad - and there will be a strong Australian influence at Blunsdon this season. The Robins are likely to start the Elite League campaign as title favourites and had already confirmed skipper Leigh Adams, Troy Batchelor and Travis McGowan amongst their ranks. They have now named club assets Cory Gathercole and Richard Sweetman as the final members of their squad. Gathercole will take a doubling-up position, sharing a reserve slot with Ryan Fisher, whilst racing regularly for Somerset in the Premier League. And with the Rebels sharing the same Friday race-night as Fisher's Premier League club Edinburgh, Sweetman is likely to get several outings when the Robins face away matches on Fridays. His regular Premier League commitments are with Birmingham. Robins boss Alun Rossiter said: "Both Cory and Richard are young talented riders who are full of ability. "The club fully believe in them and we’re delighted to offer them the opportunity to become members of our 2009 squad. "Cory and Richard look to have exciting futures in the sport and I’ll be hoping to see progress from them both at both Elite and Premier levels next season."

SWINDON have revised their lower-order squad positions by signing Mark Lemon in a doubling-up role and switching Cory Gathercole to No.8.
The move gives the Robins more options as both Gathercole and fellow double-upper Ryan Fisher race for Friday night clubs in the Premier League.
Co-promoter Gary Patchett said: "It means that, if necessary, Cory and Ryan will be able to both ride in the starting line-up." BSPA.

SWINDON have reached agreement with Croatian youngster Jurica Pavlic to return to the Robins this week following a 28-day ban.
Pavlic's future was in serious doubt after he withheld his services last month, but he will now resume his position on Thursday.
Robins skipper Leigh Adams said: "I explained to him what it would mean to all at Swindon Speedway to win the Elite League title. We've come so far."

You wait till you see the commitment and effort of Pavlic close to the World U21 final. It's almost like it's his god given right to have the crown this year and I'd expect some aches and pains to arise just before he receives his crown.

Always willing to give someone a second chance me! I think there's a lot more to Pavlic's absense than just not bothering. Hopefully such things will be sorted now.
If he does bugger off again then obviously he should be hung, drawn and quartered - but let's see.
At least we can use Cory next time. Well, I think we can anyway. And also, presumably, the later he does disappear again the more chance we have of bringing in the oh-so-busy Miedzinski or Balinski.
I reckon he'll stay this time though. (But then, I'm far too trusting. Probably just be here for one bloody match!)

Interesting that TopCat is back at Blunsodn for the 4TT.
Is he putting himself in the shop window or climatised for a possible late-season appearance for the Robins?

SWINDON have drafted in club asset Morten Risager as a direct replacement for Jurica Pavlic.
The change takes effect immediately and will see Risager line up in Robins’ colours for Monday's trip to Wolverhampton.
Twenty two year old Risager joins Swindon on an average of 5.41. The Dane was signed by Ipswich on a month's loan in April 2009, following an early season injury to club skipper Leigh Lanham.
Upon Lanham's return to fitness, Risager was immediately snapped-up by Belle Vue, when a team re-shuffle saw the Aces replace Steve Boxall and dispense with their other ‘doubling-up' rider, Thomas H. Jonasson.
A further team shuffle earlier this week saw Risager released from the Belle Vue squad and the Dane will now join Swindon for the first time in his career.
Swindon co-owner Gary Patchett explains:
" Bringing Morten into the Swindon team was an option we didn't have available to us until Wednesday. He is a club asset and a rider we know will fight for every point available which is crucial as we head towards the business end of the season.
Jurica's form of late, in all leagues, has not been particularly strong. With the World U21 Championship quickly approaching his focus seems to be more based around that meeting.
He is certainly under a lot of pressure to perform on the individual stage and this may have been a factor in the dip in league form
Of course, we wish him all the best for the remainder of the season."
