Serious question. I know everyone has favourite riders, and those they’re not keen on. However, both myself and Liontamer are ardent Nicki Pedersen fans, yet agree he should have been excluded in his second heat.
I like Gollob as a rider, but call it as I see it with him – if he excites me I’ll say so, and if he’s riding like a nutter I’ll call that too. Fans of Hans also seem to be fairly impartial and can see his good sides as well as his bad.
But why are so many people so vehemently opposed to Nicki, Hans and Tomasz? Love them or hate them, they’re bloody entertaining, and when they retire, I suspect there won’t be quite so many talking points.

Schumi, but you are somewhat anti-Crump. For instance, you reckon he should have been excluded from the semi tonight, when it was clearly Gollob's fault. I'm a bit of a Gollob fan, but I don't disagree with his exclusion - which was the right decision. I guess everyone has riders they don't like. I actually don't mind Nicki that much - but I love booing him. That's what he's there for - he's the panto villian of the speedway world.

It's bollocks that's what is wrong with it. Really. Care to elucidate why?

What did Gollob do wrong? Nothing. He had the line, he had the speed and Crump just bailed out. Gollob's exclusion wasn't quite as unpardonable as Dryml's riding, but it wasn't far off it.

Did you just conveniently ignore the camera angle which showed the force with which Gollob hit Crump? It was the correct refereeing decision. Gollob is a quite brilliant rider, but on this ocassion, he was in the wrong. As for Dryml's riding, it was hard but fair. And no contact was made. You're not very consistent are you. Gollob wallops into another rider - that's OK. Dryml doesn't - but that's dirty. Make your mind up.

I've no axe to grind with any of the top riders . Yes Nicki Pedersen upset me a couple of times in his Newcastle days , but i don't dislike the guy . Nobody can argue against the fact that he is currently the best rider in the world , and a great world champion . My only gripe against him is that when things go wrong on the night , it's always somebody else to blame even when it's blantantly obvious that it's not . Gollob - i've no strong feelings either way about somebody who has never ridden regularly over here for years . On his day he is probably the most entertaining rider in the world to watch , but he has too many off nights ( on the big stage ) , which has ultimately meant he will retire never having been world champion . Hans Andersen i love to bits ever since he charmed a Glasgow audience in the Winter of 2006 . I really would love him to one day become champion . Crump - that's a difficult one . He used to piss me off when he first burst onto the scene as him and Robert Nagy were two of the top division 2 riders back in the early nineties . I've heard from so many people what an arrogant git he is , but that's hearsay . He is a great rider , but his moody strops can get a bit tiresome . Those four riders court contraversy on a regular basis , maybe that's what sets them apart . I would rather watch them in a big meeting as opposed to somebody like Leigh Adams , who is also a great rider , but who is frankly boring .

Cant stand Hans Andersen and whilst Ben Barker is brilliant to watch, as a person he is a complete tit.

I neither like/dislike Nicki Pedersen and you are right he is a sore loser but so too is Crump (although Nicki still has a way to go before he can whinge quite as annoyingly as Crump...) - perhaps that's what makes them both such consistent winners? The Gollob decision was the right one to make - this time his ability to pass another rider through the smallest of gaps didn't quite come off, which is a shame as I would have preferred him to win that race. He is fantastic to watch and definitely in my 'favourites' group but unfortunately, as you say, lacks the consistency to lift the world crown. Hans - always enjoy watching him and great to see him get that elusive fourth win last night - hope this spurs him on to come back stronger than ever next year - looked very controlled last night. Leigh Adams - spot on, I had forgotten he was riding last night by the time we got to the semis, another rider that will retire without getting that number one jacket.

I agree with al of the above, as I more or less said on the BSF last night. Although, I do dislike Nicki rather more than you do. And Jason Crump's face on the podium was just so out of order, he couldn't have broken half a smile for the camera's............

I think the problem with Nicki Pedersen is that people remember what he was & do not see what he is ... yes a few years ago he was close on mental .. the one race most people remember is the Greg Hancock incident, where he really did fence him quite badley ... the fact herbie is so popular with everybody made it all the worse ... BUT I cannot remember a time for around 3 years when Nicki hurt anyone other than himself ... he is a changed rider, but mud sticks I guess. I remember Scott Nicholls in his Ipswich days knocking more people anyone ... & Tomasz Gollob was the master ... yet both have become popular (ok Tomasz more than Scott) .... so whats the difference ... I guess its that Nicki went on to become the best rider in the World, where the other 2 have just become just very good riders ... which seems more acceptabe. As for being a sore loser ... well give me a sore loser over a good one anyday ... let people see your hurt & let them see had bad you want it, its more honest than "its just one of those things" So good luck Nicki ... you will be World Champion 2008
