So you approve of the blatant rule-bending to reintroduce a dropped rider into the side, and also the fact that Mildenhall have been shat on from a great height. Rule 17.4.3 A Rider in a Team's declared 1 - 7 at the end of the previous Season and not included in the new Seasons initial declaration may not be subsequently re-introduced, nor any transfer (after 31st August in any year) is permitted without express permission of the MC. Swindon haven't broken any rules as McGowan was not in their line up last season. So what about 17.4.2

17.4.2 The BSPA MC shall monitor all proposed moves and be satisfied they are in the best interests of the sport and have sole responsibility to approve all Declared and Re-Declared Team Line-Ups, notifying all such approvals on the appropriate paperwork. Well surely Swindon snatching away Travis McGowan from Mildenhall and reintroducing him into their line-up is "not in the best interests of the sport". Remember this same rule was used to block the reintroduction of Theo Pijper into the Mildenhall line-up. What's different this time?

Why is anyone surprised to see Trav happy to return ?
He gets a chance to redeem himself, the chance to find a decent team place next season, and he is in the elite playoffs with a chance of glory.
Looks like an absolute no brainer to me.

Personally, I hope Lakeside tear Swindon apart next Monday, after the shoddy treatment of Mildenhall Speedway and its supporters.

The rules are all designed to stop cheating and advantage taking, then the very same people who have tabled them go back to their own clubs and work out ways around them. How could anyone then expect consistancy. If all promoters showed honesty and integrity 95% of the rule book could be thrown away, and we all know it.

You said Swindon bent the rules which they didn't. Now you are quoting the best interests of the sport weren't applied. So which is it? Remember this same rule was used to block the reintroduction of Theo Pijper into the Mildenhall line-up. What's different this time? Maybe the MC felt that Pijper deciding not to ride for a while for Mildenhall because he was supposed to have no machinery kind of took the piss?

But the likes of Andersen and Sullivan are allowed to take the piss with impunity. Poor Andersen's too ill to ride today, but he rode in the UK on Monday and in Sweden on Tuesday and Wednesday and will no doubt be in Italy tomorrow. But that's okay, have a facility Coventry, we don't mind proper riders taking the piss.

ML - it's both, since rule 17.4.2 concerns re-declarations which are not in the best interests of the sport. 17.4.2 has been contravened.

So what? No one cares about rules, least of all the Management Committee of the BSPA.

Maybe the MC felt that Pijper deciding not to ride for a while for Mildenhall because he was supposed to have no machinery kind of took the piss? But wasn't THJ riding in Poland ahead of Britain also taking the piss? Again, there's a lack of consistency.

many of us will be looking forward to seeing Trav ride But unfortunately not if you're a Mildenhall fan - whose supporters have been denied their chance of seeing Trav in action.
