maybe by the time rosepip got to see Sam he wasn't. He did go on a year or 2 too many! Which is why I asked WHEN rosepip had seen Sam ride. No-one is more aware than me that Sam in the latter stages of his career was a pale imitation of him in his heyday. However rosepip only needed to say that he didn't see Sam ride until he was past it and that at that point in his career he was 'no great shakes'. If that had been the comment then I'd have - albeit with a heavy heart - had to agree with him. This wasn't how it was said though...

Sam Ermolenko was a World Class rider at his peak - that cannot be denied. Not quite on a par with other one-time World Champions from the same period (e.g. Per Jonsson and Jan O Pedersen), but nevertheless a bloody good rider.

I so much wish that the guy (geddit? ) was still riding............ that way he wouldn't be able to ruin Sky's coverage of the sport!!!!!

Looks as though I am going to be scratching my head tomorrow deciding the winner of FotW Braveheart, to give you a hand, please look for the posts by "harry" (either Lord Flapperjack or a close associate) on the "Same old faces" thread in the Elite League section on the BSF.

It's suggested that "harry" maybe Sir Flapperjack Genghis, aka Mick Horton.

If so, he obviously was given the word search/crossword book for Christmas, whilst Colin got the dot to dot/colouring in one.

I'll nominate the BSPA for consistently ripping the single fish out of speedway and its supporters.

::)I am still thinking I could make the winner: Belle Vue - RobB Coventry - Colin Cooke Eastbourne - Eastie Ipswich - mickthemuppet Lakeside - Vincent Vega Peterborough - goes without saying Poole - Steve Shovlar Swindon - Orion (Actually can't think of any Swindon fans who annoy me.) Wolves - SteveBrum Too many though
