I guess if you're looking for more nominations, I can add three: 1..Max Mosely - no explanation necessary. 2..The thread on the BSF about funny names (or whatever it was) - too much crap that should have been on MSN. 3..The media. This one's a bit more involved. I turned on the tele yesterday to be greeted with the "big story of the day" which was "branded a paedophile for photographing railings". I'm sure some of you must have seen it. Blimey, I thought, what's going on there then? Well, it turns out that an elderly lady had been in a park, or community area, and had decided to take a photo of some pictures on these aforementioned railings, but these railings were surrounding a paddling pool frequented by children. Although there was no-one in the pool, someone had approached this lady and politely told her that photography wasn't allowed in the area. Her reply was: "why, in case of paedophiles?", to which she was sheepishly told "yes". Now how that's branding this lady a paedophile I'm not sure, but the media are responsible for things like this every day. That's not news. Tell me something I want to know, don't go making things up.

We're not allowed to take video of our children's school play's anymore. it's ridiculous ! Thanks for more nominations Schumi - don't have a lot to choose from this week, do I? Actually.....can I add one of my own...? I'd like to nominate all forumers who come back under a different name or several different names.... and who are just downright rude when you ask them who they were on the old forum !

Uh oh, I'm in trouble now then, as I've videoed three school plays now along with plenty of other parents in the same room. I hope nobody tells the police about it.

I guess if you're looking for more nominations, I can add three: 1..Max Mosely - no explanation necessary. Rather timely X-rated Max Mosley bets Derek McGovern 25/07/2008 (Daily Mirror) I've always wondered how the other half live. Those without other halves. It seems Max Mosley is doing rather well. Whatever you think of his antics to be involved with not one but five prostitutes at the age of 67 takes a whole lot of money and a lot of energy. Two of the qualities I've lacked in my life. During my younger days I was so poor the only reason I attended orgies was for the grapes ;D Max is 10-1 to quit as President of the FIA before the start of the season but there is a growing feeling among the sport's governing body that this isn't the last election Max will be having. Paddy Power Max Mosley special bets include: 10-1 Mosley to quit as President of the FIA before the start of next season. 100-1 All the pit girls on the starting grid of the Hungarian GP to be carrying whips and dressed in dominatrix outfits. 150-1 Chequered flag at the Hungarian GP to be replaced with a whip. 500-1 Mosley to launch his own F1 team called Whiplash. 750-1 Mosley to replace drivers helmets with gimp masks at the Hungarian GP. 1000-1 Mosley to be banned by The Jockey Club for excessive use of the whip. ADDITIONAL REPORTING BY JOHN SHAW edit - Bollocks

Uh oh, I'm in trouble now then, as I've videoed three school plays now along with plenty of other parents in the same room. I hope nobody tells the police about it. I think it's a case of having to get permission from every parent before you can record them (or take pictures) - in our case anyway. It's getting more and more difficult to find a media source where news is reported as news rather than feeling the need to sensationalise everything - I find GMTV terrible for this, in fact they led with the railings woman yesterday morning I think. Then again BBC News aren't much better sometimes (I should stick to the radio in the mornings obviously) In fact, if it weren't for Kate Garraway I'm sure I'd never even have GMTV on in the first place

Although there was no-one in the pool, someone had approached this lady and politely told her that photography wasn't allowed in the area. I'd have told them politely to get stuffed. It's not illegal to take photographs in the vast majority of public places, and these busybodies should be put in their places.

And all it takes is for just 1 parent to object to any photos being taken, it means no one else can.
Since my youngest started school last September, I have been to his class assembly, the old favourite, the Nativity / let's not upset the ragheads style Winter festival play, another class assembly and finally his sports day, and each time the policy on photography or filming was different.
I take a camera and I'm told I can only take a photo of my son on his own, or I take a camera and I can't use it, or I don't take my camera and told you can snap away to your heart's content.
As you can see from the unusual length of my post, it's a sore subject of mine!

As you can see from the unusual length of my post, it's a sore subject of mine! Mine too ! It makes me bloody mad ! Then they go on about copyright and stuff - how can they say that when it's a crappy play that the teachers and kids have made up purely for the end of term show for parents of those kids to watch, then deny them the right to film it....
