Equally Badge you could argue that Matt's idea would actually bring some structure back to the EL fixture list with regular race nights, as you have ponted out the current system doesnt appear to be working
Also with regular race nights those that didnt have (or want) overseas fixtures could more easily double up / down with PL clubs to give them more meetings. This is the problem with Ford et al coming out with random soundbite ideas rather than a coherent plan for the sport showing how the various ideas would sit together and benefit the sport as a whole, we can but wait and hope

Certainly getting rid of the doubling up this season has been a big clanger, bearing in mind the huge gaps in the fixture lists of the EL clubs. Surely all this was brought about by Ford's quibble over running on a Wednesday night v a Championship Final footie match. Let's be honest here, with his lack of British riders in his Poole team, he is always going to have problems fielding a team at times with them being foreign , whereas most other teams don't have the same problems. It's not all to do with GP riders is it

I'm not so sure about that Badger.................the promoters knocked that rule on the head after (alledgedly ) a certain current PL rider started to hold the EL promoters to ransom even before the BSPA conference. I'm convinced the right decision was made.

Oh I stand corrected then Kev, care to share any dirt with us Well from an Ipswich point of view, it certainly would have helped Schrammy, who really wanted to double up this year, but bless him he made the leap to EL, and now he is being punished for it

Whilst I wouldnt argue that the whole asset / loan system is in drastic need of an overhaul, but I have always though doubling up was one of the better aspects of team building and have never really understood why it is restricted to Brits and limited to two years Part of the problem with how the sport is currently structured is that the cream (in terms of rider talent) does not always rise to the top with good or better PL riders having to 'gamble' on a year in the EL - this obviously didnt work out financially for Doolan last year and how many will be surprised if Schramm 'drops down' next season in order to ensure he pays the bills. We need to look at a structure that would give these 'in between' riders the financial security (PL rides = quanity and easier points) along with the chance for EL sides to track a decent 1-7
