Well, hopefully this week should see young jacques deciding the outcome. Who will succeed young Horton, or will he disturb his holidays again to make a bid to hang onto his title? Anyway, we're open for nominations.

Not a nomination, but an observation. Bumped into Tim Helm (Stressed) at Rye House tonight and have to say that, in person, he is a most agreeable fellow. So now I'm a friend of BeggarJaybea, Stressed, Steve Turner AND the fairies.

I'd like to nominate the medic who decided that Hans Andersen was fit to race in his final race after his crash last night. He pootled round at the back clearly not his normal self and after the race was clearly having vision problems. I've read that Hans is now in hospital (not sure if true). Thankfully no one suffered because of it but it could have had very serious consequences.
Maybe it's time BSI/IMG or even the FIM appointed their own medic to cover the whole series. One that the riders would get to know and respect.

To be fair that medic who was walking back to the pits with Hans after his crash did obviously ask him if he was ok cos he was showing him 10 fingers then 4 etc, it must have been a delayed concussion. Hans knew he had a headache cos he was shown in the pits to be holding his head, he'll perhaps learn by his mistake. Perhaps Hans should be nominated as flabberjack of the week but I don't think he's a c*nt in this instance

Perhaps Hans should be nominated as flabberjack of the week but I don't think he's a c*nt in this instance Ok I was a bit unfair on the medic, but the facts remain the same, Hans was not fit to take his place in the last race, has now officially been diagnosed with concussion (no shit Sherlock!) and cannot race for a week. Someone should give the medics at meetings the power to say "you are not fit, you are a potential danger to yourself and others, you don't ride". It's done in F1 and in other branches of motor sport. Speedway being acknowledged as one of the most dangerous and they don't. Does it have to have a major incident to bring about any change? So my nomination remains with the proviso that the medic is a representative of the current medical system (or lack of it).

I agree, surely there is some way of telling if a rider has concussion apart from asking them to hold so many fingers up!! At times it's obvious but in Hans case .................. mind you perhaps just the fact that he had a headache was enough to prove that his brain had been knocked about and he shouldn't have taken his next ride!

I know Nicolai Klindt was stopped from competing in the U21 World semi after taking a knock to the head.He was protesting vehemently and stormed out of the pits, but like you say a riders ambition and pride take second place to their and others health. Just like in Boxing a heavy blow to the head has to be taken seriously and it is best to err on the side of caution.

I would like to nominate Tony Millard...if possible he made more mistakes in commentary than usual, if fact too many to mention, however, Johno also was out of order last night I felt, over the Lindback accident, telling him to get up and get on with it
