I'm bored, so let's assume that every rider who's represented a team in an official meeting in the UK since the formation of the British League/s in 1965 constitutes a 'record' for each team he's ridden for. With me so far? OK now, multiply that record by the number of years he rode for them, and you get a new total. As an example, Peter Collins rode for Belle Vue every year from 1971 until 1986 (inclusive), so that equates to 16 'records' and then add his 'record' at Rochdale in 1971 and you have a total of 17 'records' for PC. Got it? Now let's expand this to include every rider who has represented a team (Division 1 & 2, or their alternative name : in an official meeting in the period 1965-2007.......... go on, have a guess, how many 'records' are there?

Jesus, I've no idea. None whatsoever. Bloody Hell, I never though I'd see you post that. Go on, have a shot at it..........I'll post the answer at the weekend. Pride's at stake here, genghis, the self proclaimed master of the stats, is also welcome to have a shot........... and as an incentive, Damian the younger has contributed the grand total of eight 'records'.

Well, to date I can say that Sube is the closest so far.

go on, have a guess, how many 'records' are there? I hope you've got this on a spreadsheet so there's no chance of you miscounting - you know what Genghis is like. 19,265.

I'd guess there's been an average of 30 tracks over the 42 seasons since 1965 (assuming we're counting BL, NNL, NL, BL Div 1, BL Div 2, BEL and BPL), multiplied by an average of 10 riders per side.
I'd therefore say 12,600.

Kev, before I make my guess, do guest appearances count or not. And how about second half riders who fill in at their home track for the visiting team. Also you've made no mention of Division 3 - are you counting Conference League?

You have got it right. It's useless information and seeing it was after 11pm at night, why were you bored? Lets count how many tyres each rider went through throughout their career Sorry Kev, I think doing my ironing is more important than knowing useless info

No, Conference League is not included - just the senior leagues.

Does a new record have to be made if they rode a different engine, ie,Jawa, Weslake, Godden, Gm.
