The Clash of the Swedes as Jonathan Chapman seems to want to bill this one, and rather recklessly imo.
Most of us know there is a niggle between Nermy and Zorro but to build up this meeting purely on that basis is totally wrong imo. I know Chapman Jr is using this purely as a PR exercise but the wording in the newsletter email he circulated is totally out of order.
I hope Daniel Nermark and Magnus Zetterstrom have the common sense and professionalism to not let this meeting get out of hand.
part of email received from NA yesterday...
This Wednesday the Premier Leagues 2 top Swede’s, Daniel Nermark of the King’s Lynn stars and Magnus Zetterstrom of the Somerset Rebels will finally lock horns after a long running feud between the 2 riders as their retrospective teams take each other on in Premier League action at the Norfolk Arena, Daniel explains why he’s looking forward to meeting Magnus on home territory ‘it all started last year, I’ve known Magnus for a while but never really had any problems with him until then, we were racing at Somerset and as I went to pass him down the back straight in the last heat, he looked over his shoulder at me and then rode me straight into the fence, I could have been seriously hurt but luckily I got up from it, I went straight into the pits and things got a bit heated, I said to myself that I’d give him another chance but then earlier this season when we went their he put me in the fence again, I couldn’t believe it, it was so deliberate and dirty and it really hurt, I was furious with him, the rest of the team went off at him but I stayed calm and said to myself I would do the talking on the track!’
Magnus is no stranger to controversy at the Norfolk Arena when 2 seasons ago he had a duel with Stars rider Jan Jaros ‘it was one of the most nail biting races I have ever seen, Jan had got the better of him and Magnus hated it so he tried everything to pass him including putting him in the fence but somehow Jan held onto his bike, stayed on and came back under Magnus like a train, the fans were going hysterical and Magnus had to be escorted back to his van at the end of the meeting’ said Stars promoter Buster Chapman.
...and hopefully Dan's 'talking on the track' will be whipping Zetterstrom's arse bigtime..... ;D ;D ;D
