with due respect s/l it was a complete disaster. for us on this site, and the majority on the bsf,we realise it was not reflective of the premier league, but for sky and all the new fans they are trying to attract,it couldn't have been any worse. Respect back Stuart, the racing wasn't the best I agree, the score was even less entertaining but there were positives, there were some overtakes, and fine ones at that. There was team riding. Decent clean tidy stadium, good crowd, well interested crowd. Remember some of the miserable looking crowds we've seen in the past, when they are supposedly "marking their programmes" , riders doing wheelies entertaining the crowd. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I'd have said before the meeting that IOW on past form should have provided better than they did. They didn't but then that's speedway isn't it. I'm in glass half full mode at present, not glass half empty so maybe my sabbatical from live speedway is working....who knows ;D

I don't think it was that much of a disaster. It was no worse than quite a few EL matches that Sky have shown, scoreline apart. There was passing in at least 3 heats, maybe more I wasn't counting, and I can remember one EL match with only one heat with overtaking. Which 3 races were good so I can fast forward to them?

See - when will Sky come to their senses and leave the bloody south of England for once . If they are serious about covering PL speedway in all it's finary then they have to cover an Edinburgh v Glasgow meeting . Imagine Kelvin and Greeny slumming it at " the Stad de Midden " and the rest of the country watching in awe as The Messiah inflicts yet another speedway lesson to the men in Blue and Gold . The audience figures for Coronation Street would be dwarfed .

You've sold it to me, I'm off to write a letter to the Daily Telegraph lobbying on your behalf!
Personally I would like to see an hour, or maybe two hour highlights show, in addition to the weekly livematch, that way you could just have shown 3 heats from last night, those involving Roynon!
That way speedway would be presented to the ignorant masses of this country as an exciting sport, where there is overtaking. Obviously once they go for the first time it'll come down like a pyramid selling scheme.

They couldn't have chosen a worse track than Rye House.
