Was only in the POW for a couple of pints LW . The beer's not much cop in there and it was too packed . Much better quality of ale and room to move about round in the Queen's Vaults - which is where we ended up .

LT, I hope you always feel at home here. Like you I don't have a prob with most of the mods on BSF, tho reading some of the posts about warnings etc, I can see why others justifyably have. The BSF I joined no longer exists I'm afraid, apart from the "look at me" brigade who are a complete pain in the arse, it appears to be populated by young whipper snappers who have no idea what the world's about and simply want to take the piss. Now I can piss take with the best of them , but I refuse to waste my talents on non-entities. You lot on here have been warned tho ;D To stop my rambling and return to topic. LT you often used to brighten my work day up with you humourous posts, and in the stressful environment in which I work that was priceless. Go for it on here, you do wonders for my blood pressure. If I'd been in Cardiff I'd have wandered over and had a natter, I can't think of many folk I'd rather pass the time of day with. Welcome aboard LW , you bloody EL snob

Talking of bans I was reading on the BBC's website that some genius at the DVLA has banned a certain car number plate from the streets of Edinburgh. Must be something bad, I thought, to warrant such a reaction, but, and this might just be me, when I saw what it was I thought how silly it was.
They have banned anything starting with SNO7 because "In this case, the SN07 marks would have been too similar to the word 'snot' and, as that could possibly offend some buyers, they were replaced with new TN07 registrations."
Only trouble is that Edinburgh are now the only place in Scotland where the number plates don't start with an S. Is "snot" really that offensive?

All I can say to you Liontamer is that I copy the majority of your jokes and e-mail them to my workmates. This certainly makes a boring day at work much brighter so dont stop.

Welcome aboard LW , you bloody EL snob And proud of it, don't forget. You tell her Sube! Thanks for the welcome SL but you should also know that I'm one of the original members of the "look at me" club according to someone not happy with having their thread hijacked. So any of you lot who have ever dared to change the subject on a thread on the BSF or dared to have a laugh with mates consider yourselves members!

Being subversive, I see it as a sacred duty to change the direction of threads.

I have to say I've resisted a dig at our resident Trekkies YAWN... (they know who they are) for hijacking one of my threads on here. On this occasion I'm prepared to let it go, but just this once you understand ;D

LW I met you long before the founder member of the "look at me" club started going to speedway ;D Maybe it's the definition of "look at me"

So last year's SN06 (snog) couldn't possibly have offended anyone then? I assume that all registrations in Scotland originate from the main LVLA in Edinburgh, so that means all Scottish plates for this period will be TN07, which is a shame because Sottish plates have traditionally included an 'S' as the identifying letter.

I'm very happy to call her my friend.

I'm very happy to call her my friend. Thank you for that contribution, young LW. It's always easy to drift with the prevailing tide, much harder to stand against the tide. I know that you're proud to be an EL snob and I know you're proud to be a friend of the Fairies and their leader. You've a lot of courage and I surrender to you. I think, if I may be so bold, part of the Fairies' problems is an almost overwhelming desire to be liked by everyone. In life that's not possible and the effort often alienates many. However, I know that the Fairies have been with you during some troubled times and they're to be admired for that, if nothing else.

Subedei and LW, thanks for your replies. People form their own judgements of others and I fully respect yours on this. However it's not an opinion I share. I'll leave it at that, tis not worth arguing over.
