Will be going to the Hammarby - Masarna meeting, my first live speedway fix of the year. You're lucky in that respect on the other side of the North Sea, what with the season starting in March! I expect a bit of a trashing, Smolinski is way to good for the Allsvenskan and should be emphatic on Thursday. The Masarna team looks possibly the weakest in the league. But who knows what might happen - it will be good to be back on the home straight!

The end of last year was not good for anyone involved at Hammarby, and Smolinskis average dropped to 4.92. The formula to re-calculate his average for the Allsvenskan is; 4.92/0.75 + 2.67 = 9.23

But Smolinski and Hlib are, especially around Gubbängen - leaving many high profile riders in their wake last year. But Miesac and Lampard are wholly new to swedish racing as far as I know...

But Miesac and Lampard are wholly new to swedish racing as far as I know... That would be Lampart, Lampard is a Premiership player with Chelsea. Lampart is a junior with Rzeszow in Poland and not one of the better juniors, while Miesiac (I think it means "month" in Polish) is a decent enough little rider and I do believe he rode for Masarna last season.

Indeed he did, 7 meetings, 30 heats and 18 points for Miesiac at Masarna last year. I really thought it was Fat Frank lining up for Hammarby tomorrow, especially as he was taken off the pitch early at the Nou Camp on Tuesday to save strenght.

Okay, all done, and wins for all of the home teams. A tumble for Masarna's Fredrik Andersson saw him withdraw from the meeting, but a decent return for Solkatterna's Nermark, who was in the papers today saying he feels good about his form.

And a great score from Maksim Bogdanovs, whom I did highlight earlier in the thread - I wonder if erik was impressed by the Latvian?

Indeed I was Subedei, he was a pleasure to watch and the best rider on track. Smolinski's gating was terrible all night, but in his first two encounters with Bogdanovs he still had enough to chase him down. But after that Bogdanovs wisened up and was untouchable for the remainder of the night. It was a fine meeting where Eric Andersson aswell deserves praise. And Fredrik Anderssons fall was a shocker, he hooked on to Anton Rosen in the middle of a bend and his bike straightened right up and went careering straight for the fence - luckily Andersson flew over both the fence and the railing behind it and landed rather softly on a grass slope. His bike hit the fence and it was a terrible impact.

Good to hear that, Eric is one of my favourites, i have never seen a young rider take to Arlington as well as he did a few seasons ago, a huge mistake by Bobby Dugard to not give him a call.

Peter Ljung is blaming himself for his team's defeat at Solkatterna. I won't post what he said, but let's say he's a bit upset by his performance.
Not sure if you've been following the British leagues, erik, but Linus Sundstrom will be disappointed with his score too - he's been really impressive for Rye House, and this was his latest score at Birmingham: 2..L Sundstrom..3,3,3,3,2,1' = 15+1

Well, from the first round the Allsvenskan looks to be an open and interesting series this year. Hammarby have now had a look at Lampart and Miesiac and will consider Gizatulin and Simon Gustavsson when the need to beef up a bit arises. They also have Karpov to test.
Next week I'll be watching Getingarna vs Griparna, which will be interesting.
