I'm going for a slight bit of rain before the meeting, not too much mind, but just enough for KK to not want to come out to play. An injury free meeting, a 50-40 win to Ippo and KK to hit 5pts....

Are you normally quite close with your predictions MD??? I hope so, sadly I think there will be more than a slight bit of rain ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) . KK never historically goes well at Foxhall, so hopefully you are right.

Taken from today's EADT/Evening Star:
Witches in 'must win'
meeting says Danny
SPEEDWAY
Ipswich Witches v Belle Vue Aces
KO Cup, first round, first leg.
Foxhall Stadium, 7.30pm
By Mike Bacon
IT'S 'a must win' meeting, according to Witches star Danny King, as Ipswich entertain Belle Vue in the knock-out cup at Foxhall Stadium tonight.
The injury-ravaged Suffolk side have yet to taste victory after a disastrous double-header meeting against Lakeside last week, left them with two defeats and minus two riders.
Leigh Lanham and Kozza Smith are set to be out of the saddle for at least a month or more, but King knows it is imperative the Witches hit the ground running tonight.
“There is not much more I can say other than it is a must win meeting,” King said.
“Losing our first two meetings was not a good start. Of course there were circumstances, but we need to move on and start winning.
“And against Belle Vue, we are going to need points to build up a lead, although I think we are capable of winning at their place too.”
King started well with a win and a second place in his first two rides at Foxhall on opening night. But he admits the crashes and waiting around on the night got to him.
“The loss of Leigh and Kozza disrupted up badly and I admit I found it hard to concentrate with all what was going on around me,” King added.
“But those two meetings are out of the way now.”
King, who will also be riding in Poland and Sweden this season, is a key member of the Witches side who entertain Belle Vue tonight, and along with Tobi Kroner will need to add bite to the middle order.
Meanwhile Witches team manager Peter Simmons has said that he is considering re-declaring his line up to cover for injuries to Lanham and Smith.
“We have been caught out in the past trying to cover for injured riders with rider replacement and we want to judge the team's performance against Belle Vue,” Simmons said.
Much like Ipswich, Belle Vue have made many changes throughout the winter months but have a solid look about them.
They too have suffered injury problems losing Billy Forsberg before a wheel was even turned with a broken wrist in a pre-season practise crash.
They have drafted in Henning Bager to cover for his absence.
Tonight's teams
Ipswich: 1 Jarek Hampel, 2 R/R, 3 Tobi Kroner, 4 Danny King, 5 Piotr Swiderski, 6 Dawid Stachyra, 7 Carl Wilkinson.
Belle Vue: 1 Krysztof Kasprzak, 2 James Wright, 3 Henning Bager, 4 Charlie Gjedde, 5 Ulrich Ostergaard, 6 Steve Boxall, 7 Patrick Hougaard.

Weather update, we have just had a short sharp shower, however it is sunny now and the blustery winds have dropped.

Meeting off due to a waterlogged track. No restaging date has been arranged yet. It all sounds rather dubious to me. I fear Comrade Louis' credibility is shrinking fast.

And how can you know that Sube, I was there at the track at 5 o/c and trust me, it was the Clerk of the Course and the Trackman who advocated the postponement and JL took their advice. The track was flooded yesterday afternoon, and up until about 3 o/c the track was drying nicely but a heavy shower which didn't stop until 4.45pm mean't that it had no chance of drying out safely for the meeting to go ahead. Safety of the riders is paramount, and JL is damned if he doesn't cancel until late, and for once he took the decision early and he is still wrong.

I know it makes no difference to you what is the truth and what isn't but hey don't let the truth get in the way of your sarcasm and rolling eye smileys!!!! ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png) For everyone's information Jarek was at the meeting. I don't know why I bother ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png)

I do hope that this was a geniune rain-off - I thought John Louis was one of the promoters who played it straight.

Badge - calm down dear. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I didn't say it wasn't, did I? But why didn't he wait 10 minutes and let the ref call it off? He would say saved himself so much aggravation.

In Badge's defence Genghis i have to say, for a big speedway fan which you clearly are, you are so suspicious and untrusting of almost everyone in the sport, you seem convinced skullduggery abounds everywhere. Why would Ipswich want to lie and get the match called off ? its almost as preposterous as the thought of Jensen purposely falling off to reduce his average.

I haven't a clue Genghis, however I was there and I'm interested to find out how this 10mins away nonsense has appeared. Barbara was certainly on her way, and I'm sure if she was only 10 mins away she would have arrived at the track herself, but she didn't, wherever she was she turned round and went home.
