Well i don't hear anything But it was said in a jokey way, hence the smilies. But also out of a sense of exasperation. It wasn't meant to be abusive in any way.Not always easy to tell with typed words, but smilies help. Now maybe you can get back to endlessly going on about IMG/BSI

Maccattack - you don't use the chatroom. But of course bad language is actively encouraged on the forum so it's not unexpected I guess. That's not true at all. In fact many people will tell you I'm not keen on the overuse of bad language and have posted my thoughts on it. But then I'm not keen on reading posts such as "lol" or simple smilies, or chitchat. I just don't read them and look for the bits I'm interested in. Not having a go at you, just an observation in general. Thanks. And we even share them with the non-swearers.

Exactly the type of language that is giving this forum a bad reputation I hear!! Trees - well, the bad language was used in my direction, and do I care, well no I don't give a.... Anyway, if you're that easily offended, then maybe this isn't the forum for you.

So me saying put on a test match at Oxford on your "Give Oxford a big meeting" thread wasn't a good idea then? :-/Coz your answer was "it has to be officially sanctioned".Sorry i came up with the idea before we knew there was going to be a test in Ostrow. But it's fucking obvious it has to be officially sanctioned so does Matt's test match.Cnut Macattack - I would ask the charm school for a refund if I were you. Looking back at the other thread, your suggestion was a England U21 v Denmark U21 test match, hardly a crowd puller. Would you not agree that a senior England (sorry, Team GB) v Poland test match is a different kettle of fish entirely.

Too right Kev Genghis,if you look back i did in my second post(the one which you replied to with the obvious statement about official whatever)say "a test match of some sort" in which category a GB v Poland meeting most certainly falls.I did firstly put the U21 meeting thinking that might include riders that were likely to feature in Oxfords immediate future, rather than EL riders. But like you say a full meeting would be a better crowd puller.

Macattack - hold on let me check.... yes, maybe you did. Sorry old chap. Seriously though, if there is, for instance, only one meeting at Oxford this year, then the bigger that meeting the better. The success of that meeting could influence the whole future of Oxford Speedway, especially if the stadium were to stay in the hands of the GRA (although hopefully the venture capalist that owns the GRA will sell the stadium onto someone who is more interested in the sports held inside that stadium). So that's why I was a little sceptical of an U21 challenge or Team A vs Team B fixture, it possibly could do more harm than good if it wasn't well attended. But get someone like Gollob there and the rest of the Poles, and that would be great. I suspect the old Mongol may even travel from the cruel, crazy town for that one.

At the end of the day, I'm sure it's language used by most people at some stage or another, so why get hung up on it? The sooner people accept it, the sooner it loses it's "shock" value.

It's a bit like many things in todays society that were seen as "not the done thing" a few years ago though isn't it, should we simply accept it or should we condemn it? A few years back, at least where I come from, this type of language was never heard by women and children but kept to building sites and the like but now kids have no hesitation in coming out with it in front of their grandmothers!! Perhaps it's all part of the lack of respect we have for one another these days .................. but let it rule eh .............. fair enough!

Trees - or is it the memory cheats, and things weren't quite so wonderful in the past as we would like to think? P.S. I also think that people use this forum to let off a bit of steam sometimes. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing to do.

A few years back, at least where I come from, this type of language was never heard by women and children but kept to building sites and the like. Presumably you think a building site is no place for women and find it shocking that women are choosing careers in the construction industry. And I did hear that Chaucer, who used some of the words you find so offensive rather liberally in his works, was studied at school, so perhaps you'd like to stop girls attending school.

hahahhahaha .............. just saying how this language was viewed a few years back and still is by many! Would you care if your grandmother read the forum? As much as I don't think the swear words necessary they won't stop me reading some of the interesting sections and posts on this forum I can assure you I'm one of the least easily offended people you could meet haha Well at least they won't get any profits from this test match haha ............. IF it happens

Presumably you think a building site is no place for women and find it shocking that women are choosing careers in the construction industry. That brings me onto a recent lecture I had at Uni. Our lecturar kept saying 'shit' in reference to drainage etc. This was followed by loads of giggles. He went nuts at this, 'I don't know if you realise about when you are on a building site people use this industrial language all the time, so get used to it and stop giggling'. The naive full-time degree students still laughed their way through the lecture.
