I don't think it's that optimistic, to be honest. Bridger had a very solid first year and a dip or levelling off in the second year is perhaps to be expected - he should be looking to kick on in his third year. A seven point average should be his goal, in my view.

Davey Watt is Eastbournes rider of the year, which he thoroughly deserves!!
Also, apparently Floppy officially announced his retirement last night at the D&D, nothing yet on the website but its in the forum. Although expected, still very sad that his career has had to end like it has, he has been a great assest to Eastbourne and truely is Eagle through and through!! He will be missed!!

Sad but expected news of Floppy's retirement. On a plus side maybe we'll see more of his commentary role which he does very well .He cracks me up actually which is more than you can say for bloody Millard.

One too many nasty accidents for Floppy, I think, and you can't help but feel he's made the right decision. I fully expect to see him with the Sky team next year adding his own unique take on procedings.
Glad Davey won rider of the year - even I voted for him.

Great news and well deserved for Davey, hope he is able to stay with you in 2008.
I'm glad in a way that Floppy has made the decision to call it quits, although it is sad that injury has forced this on him. Health is so important.

Re Bob Brimson I was told before the 2007 season started that BB would only be the promoter for one year and that Martin Dugard would take over. We shall soon see I guess ?

CAMERON Woodward was the winner of Saturday's Victoria State title - but it was heartbreak for rival Cory Gathercole. Woodward dropped his only point of the qualifying races to Gathercole, who reeled off five straight wins for a perfect 15-point maximum. The duo were joined in the Final by Sam Masters, who won his last three rides to finish on 12, and Richard Sweetman, who also finished strongly with two wins to total 11. But at the first time of asking in the Final, Gathercole crashed out on the second lap and was excluded - leaving the way clear for Woodward to take the title in the re-run, with Sweetman second and Masters third. Pre-meeting favourite Chris Holder was unable to take part after his machinery was delayed en route, whilst Aaron Summers started well with two wins but crashed in his last ride and finished on nine points. Another two riders to bite the dust were Sam Dore, who took no further part after incidents in his first two rides, and Dakota North, who started with a win but fell on the second bend of his third ride and did not continue in the meeting. Tyrone Proctor, meanwhile, was left with too much to do after blowing an engine in Heat 3, and although he put himself back into contention by winning his next two rides, he finished on eight. Well done Cam I am so happy that he won this, he had a fantastic end to the season over here, and thoroughly deserves some success in Oz this summer/winter. I really do hope he is back at Eastbourne next season.

Think you will find the Floppy/Deano partnership has ended.
