That's very bad news for the Stars - you have to think that tough times lie ahead with the economy the way it is at the minute. Glasgow in the same boat , losing Builbase as our main sponsor . Luckily our bar takings are quite good .

Kings Lynn have not only lost the Money Centre as their main sponsor, but they've also lost their other 2 main sponsors, Jark Recruitment & Banham Poultry, and are struggling to find a replacement. terrible news but I suppose not totally unexpected given the current climate. Hopefully KL will be able to sort things out with a replacement sponsor as they are so vital for clubs. Good luck.

Seems Jon Oliver has got his missus up the duff and has now decided to stay over there in Australia in 2009 . So the Stars will have to find another rider now .

Oh dear and there isn't that many left to choose from. Still, a broadly familiar scenario for the Chapmans, didn't one of their riders get injured in a German ice meeting ahead of last season? I think they ended up signing Russell Harrison.

I cant remember exactly but dont think it was a German ice meeting? Are you thinking of Ritchie Hawkins & Somerset? Or am I confused?
Trevor Harding got injured in Australia and couldn't come over, I think that was last year.

And that rider will be Emiliano Sanchez: King's Lynn team boss Rob Lyon believes his club have unearthed a gem in Argentinian racer Emiliano Sanchez.
The 31-year-old former Birmingham and Hull rider has been drafted into Lynn's 2009 line up after John Oliver was ruled out for personal reasons.
“Emiliano has good pedigree and is a great all round rider who will score well at away tracks,” said Lyon. “In all honesty I can't believe he wasn't snapped up by another club. In 2005 he finished the season as Hull's number 1 rider on an 8.15 average and in 2006 he moved to Sheffield and finished on a 7.38 average.
“Then In 2007 he rode for Birmingham and achieved a 7.14 average including bonus points but unfortunately that winter he had a serious crash in Argentina and lost his spleen. Amazingly he still returned to British speedway in 2008 for the Stoke Potters, but he didn't get on well there and mid-season transferred across to Scunthorpe, there he finished the season on a high recapturing some of his pre-crash form.
“I've no doubt he has a lot to offer us and with another rider in the team having so much potential to improve their average it really is going to be fascinating to see who will be at reserve for the Stars after the first set of official averages come out.”
Sanchez admits he just wants an injury-free season after originally missing out on a domestic spot for the year.
“I love racing speedway and it was very sad that I didn't have a team place for 2009, that is why I am so happy King's Lynn have given me this opportunity,” he said. “I now feel I am over my bad injury and had a good winter racing back in Argentina, I beat Kyle Legault and Lee Complin on quite a few occasions and believe I can get back to my best this season - especially with the support of the fantastic team and management at King's Lynn. I am very happy.”Taken from: new.edp24.co.uk/It looks a good signing to me. Although born and raised in Argentina, Sanchez has Italian ancestry, which allows him to ride in the UK without a work permit. It has also allowed him to ride for the Italians in the SWC.

What a strange phrase to use considering Emiliano has been around for a long time Imagine if the Flopster has a super start to the season and Lyon decides to use it after picking him for the Great Britain SWC team.
