And we're under way in Sweden.

I almost started a thread on the BSF pleading with the promoters to consider bringing Balinski over here. Glad I didn't now - he's a disappointment tonight.

Christian Hefenbrock keeping busy tonight - 6 heats down in Eskilstuna and he's had 4 rides. And is it the same Hefenbrock as rode for Wolverhampton last night? Surely not?

Hefenbrock's the one keeping them going. If Smederna can't beat the Indians with both Ferjan and Henka not scoring so far they have no hope of getting out of the relegation zone.

Looks like a shameful performance from the Great Man so far tonight.

What has happened to Mikael Max, he seems to be going downhill at a very worrying rate.

He's not been quite the same since his accident and seems much more comfortable in the Allsvenskan. The fact he's dropped to reserve says it all.

And the Lejonen meeting is over in double quick time with my favourites having mixed fortunes. Nicki P scored an immaculate maximum for the home team, whilst Balinski failed to earn a point for the Pirates and was replaced in his final ride.

Balinski failed to earn a point for the Pirates and was replaced in his final ride. Did he think he was riding for Swindon? EDIT: Sorry Schumi, but you've got to let me have a bit of fun. After all, I'm going to have to change my sig later in the season.

Two hours and six minutes, and not a titter. Then you turn up.

Cheers for the updates, great job as usual. What happened to Skornicki? Nothing. Vetlanda sacrificed him to use tactical substitutions to try and get back in the meeting. This meeting was a real cracker, plenty of great heats!

Last night was a truly fine meeting in Stockholm. Vetlanda was by far the most dangerous side to visit this season. And with the likes of Holta, Crump and Hampel available to take tactical rides it never felt safe for the home side. Plenty of great racing, and especially ht 12 was the best I've seen in a long while.
Smolinski made an excellent first turn and was leading Hampel down the back straight, but on the second bend Hampel really moved Smolinski wide and almost out in the fence and passed him. Smolinski had to shut off hard and went from first to last. Captain Beardy from his third place saw this and I think he didn't take too kindly to it, he gave a great chase on Hampel for a lap and at the same turn as on the previous lap he gave Hampel the exact same treatment that Hampel had served Smolinski, and passed him. Nicholls then led to the finish, but Smolinski never gave up and passed Holta on the home straight right before the finish. Nicholls move was a true captains performance. Reminded me of the NHL where they usually have one guy in the team who just goes out and thumps everyone in the opposition to make a point. Nicholls is starting to grow on me.
Another great heat was the 2-man show of Gapinski and Crump in ht 13, where Gapinski led for 3 and half lap, but Crump passed on the final bend. They were so close for the whole heat, just inches between them. Gapinski messed up one turn on the final lap, and then Crump was able to pass him on the final turn. But what a chase!
