Certainly not for Mads - he blew an engine. Unfortunately it was his only engine. Well he must have picked another up at Leigh Delamare Services on the M4, because he had one at Swindon a couple of hours later.

Bad news about Wato www.southwalesargus.co.uk/sport/speedway/4204538.Wasps__Watson_blow/Certainly put a dampner on the proceedings yeterday,I have heard from a friend of mine who was on Facebook today that his leg is broke in three places. I seem to have lost my sense of humour today, what started out as a bright new future for the Wasps seems a bit surreal today.

Such an unlucky fellow. And by all accounts he was flying yesterday ahead of the accident. I saw him last season and he was but a shadow of the rider he had been. But judging by his early showings yesterday, he might've finally got over the earlier injuries and then it happens again. I wish him well on his road to recovery.

He was in superb form Sub,he wasn`t troubled at all and was in front again when he fell. I can`t explain how it happened,I missed the accident due to an enforced toilet break,4 pints of Dietbow were looking a new home at express pace.

Not a good start to a new era for the waspies. Reckon QWM is cursed or something, more often than not a rider picks up an injury during their opening meeting - Pat Bliss actually ended up refusing to open up Readings season with the home & away challenges against the welshies as Reading picked up a few first meeting injuries to their team in years gone by.
Out of curiosity DB, was the air fence in use yesterday?

Yes it was Wacks, like I said,I missed the fall, but he hit the fence after coming out of the second bend apparently, there`s no air fence along the straights and thats where he hit the fence.

Cheers DB, not good then as probably at near full throttle when it happened.
Such a shame for both Wato and Newport as they look to start afresh. I know in many peoples minds at Newport Wato is irreplacable, but I sincerely hope that another heat leader is sourced from somewhere and Newport go on to have a blinder of a season. The club needs & deserves it.

Hmm,it seems that the Wasps have signed Paul Fry to cover for Wato.

Rumour has it that Tony Atkin will be in the Wasps team to replace Nick Simmons, although this doesn`t take place until after our match against Birmingham. Now I must admit that I`m no great fan of his,but I think it is a definite upgrade at reserve for the Wasps. I also have news on Wato`s broken thigh bone, although it is bad news,it seems the last x-rays have indicated the leg is not healing at all,so it looks unlikely there will be any quick return. It`s a shame really,he was so looking forward to this season with the Mallett`s being in charge.

It looks like Mr. Simmons is not happy with the situation, according to him there`s a few people being ecomnonical with the truth Still think Atkin at reserve would be better ;D

A good win today, just like to point out that your scores are wrong from the updates site Now,it`s highly unlikely that I`ve marked my programme wrong ,but Lemon scored 6+1,Kerr scored 7+1. And another little complaint from me,so far this season, the refs have become more incompetent than ever before.

And it looks like another perfect speedway and `Bow day tomorrow The Bandits are in town... Should be easy points for the Wasps, although Newport has been a happy hunting ground on track for the Bandits in recent seasons - they've won "on track" on their last couple of visits, although the BSPA did take lots of points (all the ones scored by guest Lee Complin) and consequently the win away from them last time.
