I'm sorry to say, young paulco, but I think only the super-square can prevent an Edinburgh win. However, if the Monarchs struggle on your new track, and Grajczonek is fit, you could snatch a win.

I just hope the rain-gods dont interfere as i've a civilised lunch with some of the Monarchs faithful planned , before my team puts theirs to the sword .

Well, something has interfered, as the meeting has been postponed. But it doesn't sound as if the "rain-gods" have been playing around in Glasgow this morning. And so, this looks like a rather shameful display from the Glasgow promotion.

There was no rain in Glasgow yesterday and i'm looking out at mainly blue skies at the moment . I'm not , obviously , in a position to see if the track is unfit , but this smacks of a cop-out on the back of Grajczonek's injury on Friday . The sheep on Easy Tiger will no doubt defend the undefendable to the hilt , but this is an embarrassing move by the Glasgow promotion and does the credibility of the sport no good at all .

Well after last week's fiasco , it's hopefully back to business this Sunday with Stoke visiting the Messiahdome . And of course it's the return of our very own super hero - the Messiah himself . And with the trainee Messiah declared fit to return , i'm struggling to contain my excitement . Teams are - The magnificent seven 1 EL Bobby 2 Big Lee 3 God 4 Anders 5 Trent 6 Mitchell 7 Trainee Messiah Stoke 1 Somebody called Fisher 2 K Jacobsen 3 B Barker 4 J Kristiansen 5 A Moore 6 Bomb scare Buzz 7 K Jakobsen very confusing And we have Chris Durno officiating . Although 15 and a half hours to tapes up and it's pouring down outside .

I reckon you'll have a pretty good remainder of the season with that team - how high do you need to finish to qualify for the Young Shield.

You have to finish at least 12th and to do that we would have to win every meeting we have left . And the list is - Stoke H , Berwick H , Edinburgh H , Scunthorpe A , Workington A , Edinburgh A . Cant see us winning that little lot i'm afraid . I'm confident of winning the home meetings , but we wont get much from the away matches .

And the final result at the Messiahdome today was a thumping win for the heathen Tigers (56:36), which ought to keep our chum paulco happy. For the Tigers Shane Parker made an unbeaten return, scoring 12 from 4 rides, while Trent Leverington was also unbeaten, scoring 15 points from 5 rides. And Robert Ksiezak was only beaten once by an opponent (in Ht 15) as he scored 12+1 from 5 rides. Elsewhere in the ranks of the Tigers, the trainee Messiah made a solid return from injury, scoring 5+1 from 4 rides. For the Potters there really wasn't much to cheer, with only a single heat winner (Klaus Jakobsen in Ht 14). Ryan Fisher had a poor day, scoring just 6 from 5 rides, including last places in Hts 13 and 15. Even Ben Barker had a disappointing day, scoring just 11 points from 5 rides, including a 4 point T/R. But he did spoil the maximum chances of Ksiezak in Ht 15. All in all, a good day for the Tigers.

Was actually 56-36 and was a more comfortable victory than even that scoreline suggests , with Glasgow producing 14 of the 15 race winners . The Messiah eased back in with an untroubled 4 race maximum , while Trent ( 15 full max ) and Robert 12+1 were also mightily impressive . Stoke were poor , although their guest being made to look really ordinary by the rampant home side was pleasing to see . Bring on those pesky Bandits now , with a bit of a WWOS love-in thrown in for good measure . ;D

Yes, it's a cruel, crazy end to August at the new flattest, squarest Messiahdome, as Peter Waite's Bandits visit. The corresponding fixture last year was, as some of us will recall, suitably weird, with Berwick's Matej Kus, apparently, discovering brief fluency in English after being knocked out in an on-track crash.

Sadly i dont think i can make what would be my first visit to the Messiahdome this year, on Sunday as other commitments(as has happened all season) means a non-appearance from GM and the lovely young lady. No visits to the bar with the jovial young Paulco this weekend for me! As for the action on track, well? Last night in the musky depths of Barbaria the merry Bandits set upon the Comets in the battle for 3 precious premier league points, winning with ease in the end despite tumbles for Captain Rymel and the Scudster. Glasgow have much improved form of late and of course the 'chosen' one has returned as if he hasnt been away, coupled with Trent's form i think the Messiahdome Tiggers may have too much power for the Bandits, for whom the Bohemian Bandit and Capt. Rymel are hitting form at the right time but we may be a bit too weak at reserve/2nd string to come away from Glasgow with 3pts. Berwick=Excellent team spirit just now. Glasgow=Much improved at home. Should be a cracker!

And August ended with a damp squib at the Messiahdome, as the meeting didn't get beyond Ht 1, which was drawn with Adrian Rymel winning from the home pairing of Robert Ksiezak and Lee Dicken.
