Well, the GPs now take a break and attention turns to the SWC. The GPs will return with a visit to the "golden city" of Prague on August 2nd, 2008.

I might manage to stop laughing at the mental image of Snottie going through the tapes some time before I have to be at work tomorrow morning. At this stage though each time I recall it, a giggle escapes! ;D When he made the final I got this horrible feeling that he was going to do something totally strange and actually manage to win the wretched thing - of course I shouldn't have been so daft though - you can always rely on Nicholls to crack under pressure and make a tit of himself. Massive plaudits to Nicki P for getting himself back to his feet so quickly in the final and managing to drag the bike off the track. He deserved applause for that if for nothing else, and I thought that fans booing him on the podium was disgraceful. I've not watched the Sky+ recording yet so can't comment on Tatum & Pearson's undoubted bollocks. One thing I'm certain though is that it will be 1000 times better than the total shit spouted for most of last night by that twat Kevin Coombes. The sooner they replace him with someone who actually understands the rules regarding announcing at a speedway meeting, the better. He did make me laugh in the final though, when he urged the crowd to "Let Scottie Nicholls know exactly what you think of him!" - we did, trust me!!

Posted this on Bears forum, my views on the meeting:
Just got back, racing wasn't very good but there was alot of incident.
When both Adams and Bjarne were excluded the ref should have excluded Nicki, he tried to cut accross everyone on both occasions and was not quick enough. Both Bjarne and Adams kept their line and were wrongly punished.
In one of the heats Nicki appeared to touch the tapes and was let off, wrongly again.
Dissapointing to see Scotty go through the tapes in the final but with money on Crump, he was the next best thing to a Brit winning (wont mention the £2.50 e/w we had on Kennett).

To say I'm fuming is an understatement. To boo when Nicki fell off just shows the mentality of some of the wankers who watched this tonight. Sorry Schumi - have to disagree with you on this one. I was there at Cardiff and the Sky cameras didn't show everything. Like when he got up then rolled over again pretending to be hurt. And when he slid off and just laid there taking his time. He doesn't do himself any favours - he acts like such a diva with his bloody clutch cooler on his face ! The only positive thing he did all night was in the final when he got his bike of the track so quickly. He is just a bad loser that's all. Unlike the likes of Jason Crump and Greg Hancock (who I am now warming to !) who are just all round nice guys, win or lose.

I can't remember ever having seen so much negative talk in a Sky broadcast before either - both from the riders about the state of the track and from the commentators and other pundits about the state of the referee. Keith seemed quite upset. All justified complaints of course, just seemed more of them than normal

We've just watched the sky coverage - I can't believe how forcefully the team were protesting about the referee - rightly so, too. Something surely has to be done about him - that's two Cardiffs he's ruined now - the man quite clearly has no grasp whatsoever of the rules.
