This week sees the Sky cameras return to the Arlington as Eastbourne take on the high-flying Lakeside Hammers, which means another chance for Bob Dugard to to ride round on his tractor in front of a national television audience. He loves it. But will his Eagles? After an impressive start to the season Eastbourne have struggled lately. And home winners have been rare on Sky this season, with Poole taking all three points the last time the Sky cameras were at Eastbourne. And Lakeside have riders more than capable of turning it on around Arlington: Kylmakorpi and Shields were both assets of Eastbourne before joining Lakeside. I think this will be a close one, with Lakeside just taking the win, with Kylmakorpi making hay against the hapless Eastbourne reserves.

I'm looking forward to this meeting on Sky tomorrow, but have the memory of the last time Sky covered an Eastbourne v Lakeside meeting..............AJ crashed out on the first lap of the first heat and it all went tits up from there.
Given an even slice of luck, Lakeside can win this meeting. As Sube says, Joonas and Adam should know every inch of the track, and I've also seen Tomi The Czech have some good meetings at Arlington. Leigh Lanham and Ricky Kling have also had some good outings around that pear shaped raceway.
What I would like to see though, is young Simon Gustafsson outscore the judgemental Richardson for the home team, but naturally an away win.
Clearly the track will be prepared with a huge home advantage as always, but if a team is going to win the league, they have to live with that and go for it anyway.
Gawd, I so hope Ermolenko isn't booked for the Sky team, and if he is, that he breaks down on the way.

How long before Kev and Silverthingy are arguing about whose fault it is that the Craven Shield final hasn't been completed yet?

I think that I have managed to translate some of the euphemisms used by the Screaming Imbecile tonight.
Large healthy crowd = very thin, be careful where you pan the camera
Great atmosphere = like the surface of the moon
Highly regarded = universally despised
Fully recovered = fragile as a dry stick
Can anyone suggest any more?

The track, again, is awful - dusty and bumpy. What was that track grader doing? Looked like he was sweeping a slick patch onto the second bend.
Is anyone else trying to record this? I'm having trouble with it - have Sky put something on to stop you recording?

Hammers don't look at all comfortable when Lewis Bridger is in the same race, and I think they've out-psyched themselves before the tapes even go up. But what a ride from Ricky Kling!

What equipment are you using. Another euphemism takes great pride in preparing the track = prepares it for maximum home advantage.

Just a standard DVD recorder. But it keeps coming up: Recording paused. Copy protected source.

Suggest try another blank DVD, never encountered that message with mine, but I tend to use the HDD instead of the DVD side of the machine

I await Genghis' explanation of the crazy Woodward move. How dare he try and go round the outside of someone. Fucking nutter ! Fairly weak argument by the ref re Nicholls exclusion - all 4 back at worst I thought. Whatever Nicholls did, AJ still took his front wheel away from him. Rico
